I enjoyed perfectly cooked meals, friendly attentive staff, and a lovely lakeside dining experience.

My friends and I spent last week in Door. I couldn't wait to share the Chefs Hat with my friends. They didn't disappoint. I had the braised short ribs, they were delicious. We went back 2 days later for breakfast. Both were the favorite meal all week.

Let me start out by saying, I don't do reviews or like eating outside. We decided that we would try the Chefs Hat on our first night on a 2 night vacation. I thought it might be snobby from the way it was depicted in the standard guides you get from any place you stay at. We decided to try it and it was Fanfrickentabulous, and I even ate outside ;). My wife ordered the Big Ben and I ordered the New Orleans. Now I've had good Cajun type of food, and bad food they called Cajun (even fusion cajun). My wife will tell you I'm not, or have been super impressed with food I've ordered, but the first bite was a mix of Heaven and food combined. Every bite was amazing, and I even tried her dish, same reaction, unfricken believable. Our plan was to try as many places as possible on our trip. Well the next morning we had a choice of a place that I believe was on TV at some point (traditional breakfast food), or take a chance and go back to the Chefs Hat for some of their unique combinations. They also offer a traditional menu too, but my wife ordered the Matzke that had pesto in it, I'm not a big pesto fan. I ordered the Lox which i thought was a wrap (my mistake for not saying wrap) but came out as a salad with egg.....I wasnt  dissapointed with any bite of the food, still great flavor combinations, and I even tried my wife's dish..pretty dang great, pesto and all. It was a small bite so i left it at that...both full and VERY HAPPY, we went on with our day. Trying to decide if we want to try a new place or not, we debated, HANDS DOWN we were going to go back (no way are we going to be as blown away with the flavor and fusion of the food). I ordered the Norwegian salmon and she ordered the the Blackened Tuna. WTH, another Amazing first bite....and the theme continued. We couldn't wreck a good thing, so we went back for our final breakfast in Door County. I ordered the Matzke as did my wife (hey, I wanted to really see if it was as good as she claimed after I only had one bite). HOLY CRAP ON A CRACKER, IT was amazing, just enough pesto to slightly taste it, but not take anything away from any other flavors in the dish. Bottom line, If you want amazing food, I couldnt recommend this place any more than I already have. It was a great experience and we don't regret for one second not trying other places in the area. No dig on them, but we just found the food combinations for US that were amazing and complimented  the   amazing time we were having.
