Went there for dinner and the food was delicious. There was hardly anybody in there but us but it took a while for a waitress to come to our table. She was young and very personable and I think with some more experience and better knowledge of the menu she will be a great waitress. I would go there again

Another out-of-state millionaire who blew into Wyoming and relies on his experience as a McDonalds employee in high school to substitute for genuine restaurant experience. Decor doesn’t substitute for decent food.

Rudest staff I have EVER encountered.... absolutely hideous.....

I have been going to Proud Cut for years with my son. In the description of this restaurant, it says good for kids (under 21). That is a lie. The new owner/management changed the policy. People under the age of 21 are not welcome. During the summer months those under 21 can eat outside but not indoors. The restaurant used to have a separate eating area in the restaurant for those under 21. They are now using it for storage.

I have eaten here in the past many time and honestly the food is great its the management that is a problem.
Last time I ate here even with a reservation they didn't have a table for two of us to we sat at the bar which I would have been fine with except i had to listen to the owner complain about her wait staff (who were kind, attentive and quick) and talk about how no one in this town knows how to own a business. She actually threatened to lay hands on one of her employees if she made another mistake. after that she went on to berate my mother for what she ordered because she had to substitute the sauce due to an allergy. The whole experience made me so uncomfortable we decided to ask for our food to go.
so fast forward a few months
Its co-vid and I didn't want to deal with her again but the food is good I thought I would try to order take out. Nope not an option because they want to "encourage people to enjoy the dine in experience" this statement leads me to believe they don't care at all about the health and safety of their customers. I do love the food but not sure I will be going back as I don't want to support a woman who threatens her employees and disregards health and safety suggestions. If it goes under new ownership I will happily give it another shot or if the chef goes to a different restaurant I will certainly support them. But I cannot support that woman any longer for threatening her community in so many ways. My guess is this review will lead her to call out her employees further and find someone to lay blame on so I have avoided writing it for sometime but I can't hold my tongue any longer. I am so sorry to any employees who receive her backlash I encourage you to seek employment elsewhere.

The new owner wiped my wine glass with his hand. Its COVID time out there dummy. When I confronted him about it, he blamed the new staff he was training for over filling the glass. Also, not cool.

The server was great, but not at all impressed with the new owner.

The food was good, but I doubt we will be back.

Bison burgers are GREAT along with the BROCCOLI SALAD!
Anyway to get the recipe for your BROCCOLI SALAD? We are from Indiana and miss it.

Pretty good spot for a burger and a beer. Try the buffalo burgers.

We recently took a trip to Cody WY. Every person and business we came across was friendly and helpful EXCEPT for one.
That business was named, “Proud Cut Steakhouse”. I recommend that you try one of the many other restaurants in Cody. Not only was the manager unprofessional, she had the attitude she didn’t care about our patronage in the first place.

Here is our story.

We walked in the restaurant and was seated at the bar (no tables were available). The bar maid came over quickly and took our drink order and delivered them. She gave us a menu. After awhile she took our dinner order. We ordered two T-bone steaks (just under $30) with bakers and a salad.
Our salads came out, iceberg (looked unwashed) with some grated old carrots (still orange with a lot of white dried up stuff on them). It was served with some what they called was bleu cheese dressing. It sure didn’t taste like bleu cheese.

When we were half way finished with what they called a salad, the server informed us the cook forgot to take the T-bones out of the freezer. Apparently she found that pretty funny. She asked what else we would like. We settled on a couple of New York’s, but I said I thought they should compensate us in some fashion because of the difference in price and quantity of meat. She said she would have to ask the manager. A heavy set woman came out probably in her 50’s, maybe 60 and said she could not give us a comparable price. She stated “it wasn’t her fault, it was the cooks fault’. Apparently she isn’t a very good manager either, I thought.

I leaned into my husband’s ear and said I was going to review them badly on Facebook. Suddenly this heavy set woman came out again, made an impertinent comment and flung a business card at me and said something like “take this; I want you to get it right”. At this time my husband canceled the steaks, paid for our salads and we left.
We ate a quality meal at one of the other fine restaurants in Cody and we were treated very well.

A restaurant that charges almost $30 for a T-bone should not have frozen steaks. Nor should they treat there guests like we were treated.

The funny thing is that while having coffee in the morning I mentioned to a couple of locals what had happened the night before. They both stated to us “she is known for that”. She doesn’t treat people very nicely”.

Well we won’t go back. Friends are going in a couple of weeks to Cody and they sure won’t eat at the “Proud Cut Steakhouse”. I told them all about this incident.

Why would someone keep an employee in place that treats customers like this?????

My husband and I went for a steak dinner on the last night of our vacation. What a waste!! We ordered the New York strip, medium rare. Both steaks came under cooked. We sent them back, after ten minutes they came back out still cold and undercooked! My husband used to be a chef and I have worked in the restaurant business. Little trick of the trade---if you upset the cook, they put the food under the heat lamp, let it sit for about ten min. and send it back out. That is exactly what they did. The bill was $64 for junk!!! DO NOT waste your time or money going here. Also after much discussion did not offer either to take something off the bill or free dessert, or whatever. Also very bad business!!!!,

This is a must eat in Cody, the Prime rib and smoked ribs are to die for, the burgers are the best and fill you right. If you like vinegarette dressings the huckleberry vinegarette is a must on your salad. The French onion soup is a nice warm end to a cold day, and their lemon drop dessert really taste like a lemon drop. Also don't forget the brownie Sunday it is big enough for two but you won't want to share it is soooooo yummy.
