Top Reviews of Luna Pizza

Man, I sure do miss this place. Not only did Luna, in my opinion serve up the best and freshest-tasting pies throughout the city of Northampton, it was also the place my girlfriend and I went on our first date back in late August of 2008. I remember ordering a medium pizza topped with tiny cubes of cooked ham, slivers of fresh basil and dollops of creamy light ricotta and a "Brooklyn-Style" Egg Cream that day. The crust was thin and crisp, crackly on the bottom but easily folded toward the center; sauce was a bit bland but tasted fresh nevertheless and the mozzarella was melted to delicious stringy goodness with delicate hints of garlic and oregano. The egg cream was made using Hershey's Chocolate Syrup instead of the traditional Fox's U-Bet and was a bit pricey for the small serving, but was foamy, rich and satisfying all the same.
We both loved it swore to return whenever we had a craving for pizza in Noho. Unfortunately, we only frequented this charming little pizzeria three times before they closed their doors for good. We made the sad discovery on the day of our first year spent together. In that time we also discovered Noodles Asian Restaurant on Main Street and picked that as another favorite go-to place for such occasions. It's been years since I've sampled so many of the other pizza places around Noho, so the search continues for our next favorite.

A qualified "amazing." Have they closed? The door's locked, the lights are off, and no sign indicates what's going on.

The original Luna, in Hartford, was the best. They moved to West Hartford and then began opening stores in other places. The Northampton one had the shoddiest practices and did not always live up to the Luna "brand."

But it's all we gots up here. Don't let it be closed!

Still good pizza, when you can get it. Their newest quirk is not answering their phone to take orders.

I agree with the reviewer below in that something is going on there. They did not have the soda I wanted. They "forgot" what our order was, and forgot the order of the only other couple in there as well. Then they drop one of the other couples pizza's and had to remake it. They forgot to bring our drinks, forgot to bring our cheese. Forgot to give us our bill when asked. We had a coupon and BOY, did that mess them up. They no longer sell beer because they "forgot" to renew their license. Food was very average that day. I usually get the white pie which is normall phenominal, and it was just so-so. It was very disappointing as I thought this place was the best pizza place around, but they have been going downhill - and fast. I hope they get with it, and that they stick around.

OK, here is the deal with Luna...

It used to be very good - like from when it opened to just a few short months ago. But something is going on there - for instance, they have not reprinted their menu in YEARS....they just white out and cross out.

But, that is not the big thing. They also "ran out" of a lot of sodas and beer. Can you spell "not paying their bills?".

I had a couple lousy pizzas there recently...also noticed a sign that their credit card machine was broken......yeah, for 3 months.

Turns out someone I know said they started skimping on the ingredients - this is from the inside!

I wish they would go back to their old ways, as this was the best place around. Frankly, the only place.....oh, well, maybe I'll give them another try someday.

One of the best hidden pizza places in NoHo. I recommend the pepperoni and mushroom. Fresh, crunchy, and tasty!!

I'm a Noho child born and raised however my family and my boyfriend hail from New York. If you know New Yorkers like I do, well they are super pains in the butts when it comes to their pizza! Luna satisfies them and it'll satisfy you. Fabulous fresh ingredients that tickle your tummy. LUVVIT!

Best pizza in Massachusetts. A bit pricey, but worth it. We gave up those giant slices from across the street in favor of this fantastic pizza. Fresh ingredients, just right crust....mmmm mmm.

Great great great pizza. I don't live in the area, but every time I'm passing through, I stop at Luna to pick up a pie. The ambiance is fine, just a regular-looking pizza parlor. But Luna turns out spectacular pies, almost as good as those down in New Haven.

Best white pizza in the valley.

Best thing about Luna is the food! Great for takeout, not the best for dine in. Prices are a bit high for pizza, especially with giant slices right across the St, but the quality can't be beat, and the fresh ingredients make all the difference...
