Wife n I had the steak n it was awesome!! But our service was terrible. I was just happy the food was good

I have been eating at the Rice Bowl since the mid 1950's. The food is just as good today as it was then. The service has always been top notch and the same people are still running the place! I put them in a special league and rank them with the great restraints of Anchorage like the Club Paris, The Chef's Inn, The Chinese Kitchen, The Lucky Wishbone and the Double Muskie in Portage. They were also around when the Bagota was still in existence so we are lucky to still have them.

We've never seen such rude staff! My fiancee and I went to the Rice Bowl last night hoping to have a nice steak dinner. The food here is very good, or used to be; it had been a long time since we were here.. We used to come here many years ago. His family was locally renown and raved about the steak, especially.They were favorite customers year after year. They're gone now but we wanted to see if the Rice Bowl was as good now as in the past.<br />

Ha! Are you kidding???? When we got seated the waitress literally threw the menus at us without so much as a greeting. We never got a chance to speak to her or any other staff person again. They conveniently forgot we were there! The waitresses hurrying past our table paid us no mind.Wouldn't even look our way. Finally, after several minutes, we got up and left. Very disappointing! We won't be going back again after being treated so shoddily.

I ate there about a month ago, I thought it was the best Chinese food I have had in all of Alaska.

They have excellent chow mein. Their rice bowl special is delicious - especially if you order it spicy. mmm, mmm.
