I think this place may have had a slow start when they opened, but I went there about a month ago and the food was excellent! The service was a little slow, but the atmosphere was great. Would recommend this place to anyone. Prices have a pretty big range, so you can go all-out or have a very reasonably priced meal.

This is one of the worst dining experiences we have had in Boulder in a real restaurant as opposed to fast food. We should have left when we got our stale bread and tasteless olive oil. The warm smoked trout appetizer was actually quite good and the other appetizers we tried were OK. Not great, but not bad. Then, I got the tuna carpaccio. The avocado was so hard that it was hard to cut it with a knife and the tuna had zero taste. They took that off the bill, which was the right thing to do. From the time we ordered our food to the arrival of the main courses was an hour and a half and if this were a great restaurant you could say that it gave you a chance to savor the courses in between. But.........And finally, the open kitchen was filthy.

Whatever went wrong for the last reviewer went right for me! I could hardly be happier with my food or the prices. I had a butternut squash ravioli with perfectly fried pieces of fresh sage, and a light but flavorflul sauce. The pasta was al dente and firm enough so the filling didn't seep out into mush, but it did not enter the chewy realm. My companion had a clam linguine that she could not stop raving about. We also had a seared ahi salad, where the ahi was cooked to perfection, with grey just around the outside of the slice, and a wonderful deep pink in the center.
As for price, there were hardly any entrees above $15, and in Boulder that is a very reasonable price. In my mind, everything we tasted was well worth the asking price, and I highly receommend giving Mista a try. I might see you there, since I will certainly be returning frequently.

Mediocre, overpriced food. Poor quality ingredients. Prosciutto is not bacon. A let-down in every respect. Avoid.
