My friends & I had dinner there our first night in Burlington, it was so delicious we when back the next day and had a delicious lunch. We also ordered Lobster rolls to take back to New York! Absolutely delicious food & drinks! I recommend the Lakeside Lemonade!

my girlfriend and i had lobster and the crab and my lobster was like eating a leather boot and the crab was over cooked and mushy we each got a small lobster part of crab and a baked potato 3 things and a soda 1 glass wine $82.00 not worth it you don't get a veggie thats extra I WILL NOT AND EAT THERE AGAIN

We used to be Shanty fans, but after three bad experiences in as many months, it's no longer on the list. Fish was tasteless and overcooked - even the sides were bad: soggy, greasy fries and detergent-flavored slaw. Spent almost $50 for reform-school cafeteria food

My husband and I had our first experience at Shanty about a month ago. Drove an hour to get there. Our only problem now is that Shanty On The Shore isn't across the street from us so that we can eat there every night! We finally found an incredible seafood place. Well worth the drive. Food and staff were top shelf. We are older so the bathroom being upstairs a bit of a problem, also keeps us from bringing our wheelchaired grand daughter.

I read some of the earlier reviews and was hesitant to make plans to have our anniversary weekend dinner at the Shanty. However, from the oysters on the half shell, to the shrimp and scallops au gratin, to the key lime pie, I was very impressed with the food. The wait staff was great and the chef's dinner was memorably. My wife had the boiled 1 1/2 lb. lobster. She was thrilled. The oysters were large, cold, and wonderful. The shrimp was perfectly prepared and the scallops in the au gratin sauce were huge and plentiful. Best of all, everything was delicious. Don't get turned off by the sour grapes reviews. This place delivers. The late view is spectacular and the meal that is served is equally spectacular. Happy Anniversary, Sweetheart! What a dinner!

I have never had a bad meal or experience at the Shanty. The staff is always friendly and courteous. I have taken many of my friends to the Shanty and all are now regular patrons.
It has a nice view of the lake, service is fast, food is terrific, prices affordable... What more could anyone ask for.
OK...the bathroom downstairs would be a nice touch but it's not the end of the world that it's upstairs.
Keep up the good work folks.

We have been to Burlington many times and avoided the Shanty on the shore as eating seafood that far inland can be risky, however we decided on our last trip up there to temp fate and give The Shanty on the shore a try - We weren't dissapointed the food was great , the portions were perfect and the prices were very reasonable. We will go back

Food is great....
Lost 2 stars for me....
no bathroom downstairs, have to climb stairs, impossible for older or handicapped people.

The shanty offers excellent seafood at reasonable prices in a casual atmosphere. I have never been disappointed.

Everything was great until I got food poisoning on clam (steamers). I know this could happen anywhere but the management was very callous about it when I called, took down my information, and never followed up to offer restitution.
