Three of us from Georgia, by way of Montreal, trekked into NY and VT to see the fall spectacular and got into S.Burlington shortly after noon time. We checked our GPS for places to eat and thought that a place with VERMONT in the name, would be a great place to eat. I must say, the sandwiches were fantastic and were worth the drive, if only for that. Plenty of meat, flavor and freshness. Subway can't touch this place. The people were friendly and even though they didn't know where to find a covered bridge, they were friendly and hospitable. The place looks like a dive, but while we were there a host of college students came in and out. So, it is a popular place that also provides healthy choices as well. There was some great photo art work for sale on the side wall. I think the place could use some sprucing up to be less "confetti" and more "college shiek" without getting too much into the "little boxes" syndrome. I hope I'll get back to VT to see the snow, the spring and maybe even the summer, but each time I do, I will hope that there's a Vermont Sandwich waiting for me.
