We were hesitant, seeing some negatives on several rating sites, but realized the worst were old. We took a chance and in return found a pleasant pub type atmosphere, some great jalapeño poppers and fish & fries. All were freshly made & delicious. We enjoyed our dinner & the excellent service from Vanessa.

1. Went for the lamb listed on their menus on the internet. Was informed they do not serve lamb anymore. We all chose alternative entrees. 2. Started with a nice salad on a plate too small with literally a drizzle of dressing. The dry lettuce just kept sliding off the plate onto the table. It came with a small slice of bread that was not baked or even warm. 3. Entrees arrive: Steak ordered MEDIUM but arrives WELL DONE. The shrimp on the next dinner was thin, dry, overcooked, and had a slight rancid taste. The next entree was pot roast. We all expect pot roast to be roasted meat mixed with potatoes, carrots, onions, and a nice gravy/sauce holding it together. Not at Embers. It was an unattractive slice of roast with a couple of tablespoons of gravy on top. In all fairness, the meat was tender. The Pasta Primavera is a joke. It was a lot of spaghetti noodles in a lot of butter with an very small amount of tomatoes and green pepper. No shredded cheese or Parmesan to be had. All baked potatoes were ordered with butter and sour cream, alas only the butter made it. Again, to be fair, the baked potatoes did taste good. The mixed vegetables were actually mushy watered down canned veggies that probably were never good in the first place. 4. You are probably asking why didn't I complain to them instead of you !! Well, I would have had I even seen a waitress after our dinner was served. The check was placed on the table by someone we had not seen before. I guess the staff was busy elsewhere. There was one other table of diners after all. 5. If you insist on giving it a try because you have a Coupon, save your money. Two out of four us needed that money saved by using the coupon to replace one shirt and one sweater that were damaged by the busted up, sharp, and missing pieces of Formica on the edge of the table. They claim to have home-cooked food in a friendly atmosphere. If that is what you want at Embers, have a tailgater in the parking lot. I would like to add that the Front Desk Clerk, Monica Barrajas, was wonderful, bright, cheery, and she needs to be recognized as an asset to the company.
