My husband and I LOVE this restaurant!!! We've only eaten there once, (on recommendation of a large group of people that have been to Ethiopia & said the food was awesome, reasonably priced and authentic) but do plan on returning in the near future! We haven't tried the Blue Nile yet, which I understand is also very good- but pricey. Oh, and I have heard that the original owners have sold to new people, which is sad- When my hubby & I were last there we had such great, friendly (& helpful- very important when you want to know what's good to eat in a foreign place! ; ) service... That was a part of the reason why we planned on returning, the food, of course, being the main reason!! = )

This is the best Ethiopian restaurant in Columbus! The food and customer service is wonderful! Anyone that says differently should give it another try. I have approximately 20 friends who eat here on a regular basis and we all have only have good feedback.

This restaurant is great and has great customer service. Reasonable prices, great food, great company, and great coffee. My favorite dish is called dora. Please give this place a chance, it is worth it. Best Ethiopian food in Columbus.

Pls. do't judge without knowing both side, We can say what we need to say, but we have to be honest, those days restaurants are on bad situation, we have to consider that, because I love to eat Abyssina's cafe, I have been there a year before, the owners, they respect their customer.
Good Luck Abyssinia Cafe.

You aren't the only one that got screwed in terms of them not honoring the Dining Out Deals coupon. A local woman that runs a food and restaurant blog here in Columbus was refused as well, and then was subjected to the owners (or manager) major hissyfit who apparently called her a "devil". I'd actually heard of this restaurant before and like trying new places and types of food, but there's no way I'd step foot in that place now.
Here is her story:
I ordered the food for take out and when the owner found out I have a coupon which I purchased from dining out deals, she was rude and said that many dishes I ordered are not available. It was a disappointing experience. I walked out and did not order.

This restaurants is a wonderful Place, it has good atmosphere, approach and ya my food. The vegetarian is Vegan, the Chicken, the lamb and the Beef combination is making you not to far away from there, I think this is the only one exactly preparing Ethiopian Traditional Food, by the way Selam Restaurant is not Ethiopian Restaurant, it is Eritrean, actually the food is almost the same, but I recommend every one who loves Ethiopian food to go and taste Abyssinia food.
