My girlfriend and I rented a Harley in Las Vegas and headed out wherever the road took us. Being 91 degrees in the desert we never thought about cold weather gear. We ended up wandering out I 40 and Route 66 and decided to head to Sedona. We stopped at Grand Canyon Harley that was closed and walked into the roadhouse to look for some cold weather riding gear. We bought a sweatshirt and a toboggan but they sold no gloves. When we walked back to the bike a stranger from inside the bar came out and gave me a pair of insulated leather gloves. Told me to keep em. It was truly awesome. I don't the gentleman's name but it speaks to the character of the people that frequent this establishment!

I'm still thinking of how to return this great random act of kindness!

Super place to eat and spend some time. We were welcomed as we walked in and felt like regulars. You do cook your own food, The foot was very good. The staff is very helpful! Would definitely make a stop here anytime I was in the area!

Hi! Back in March of this year (2010), my husband (Chris) and I were visiting from Atlanta (Georgia) and were on our way to the Grand Canyon from Phoenix. This trip should have taken us approx. 4 hours but instead took us 2 days! We kept getting stuck in heavy snow storms, with little to no visibility. On our 2nd attempt to head out to the Grand Canyon, after spending a night in Sedona, we hit another snow storm, this time ending up in a 13-car pile up in the middle of a heavy snowstorm that afternoon. We were lucky to be alive, our rental was wrecked but driveable. We got off at an exit we were not familiar with and drove up to a Motel 6 by a truck stop. It was still snowing heavily. As we checked in, we asked around for a good place to get a steak and have a fewe drinks...Route 66 Road House came recommended by all the locals,. So we got cleaned up, still shaking from our surreal experience that afternoon and made our way to the Road House. Snow was piled up high on the sides but we found the door to get in. As soon as we walked in, I knew we had make the right choice. There were a half dozen locals sitting around the bar, and gave us a warm welcome. As we introduced ourselves and told them our adventurous story, Felix came up and offered to open up the freezer and bring out some steaks. Now at this place you gotta cook your own meats on the grill. He made sure we had what we wanted, showed us a good time, showed us his spectacular showroom...and Hog Haven! The jukebox rocked all night, we were treated as friends. We would like to thank everyone who was there that night and made our visit fun. We have told all of our friends (who will listen) about this great place that rocked us all night! Thanks, Felix! Would love to hear from you, we have some pictures we would like to share, and maybe get on your Wall Of Shame :) nimetf@yahoo.com
