Roughly the cost of Starbucks but 100x the quality. Delicious!

Bad coffee and stale reheated goods served with an attitude.

Great coffee, rude service!

We have loved visiting Lake Ella for years. Black Dog Cafe (BDC) is always an integral part of those visits. I am not certain of the exact truth behind the Lake Ella changes, but I do understand that the owner of BDC was accosted several times in her parking lot. I, too, have been quietly sitting, reading on a bench and have been 'joined' and/or approached by at least 10 different people. To be honest, I did not feel fear, just agitation at the disturbance of my peace.
Lake Ella and Black Dog are wonderful meeting places! The coffee, as well as the local baked goods offered, are excellent! Please continue to visit two of the prides of Tallahassee!

The owner of this restaurant used her influence and clout to get the city to install anti-homeless architecture at Lake Ella. In response to the owner's complaints, the city also demolished the picnic pavilions in the park where church groups distributed food to needy individuals. I would not recommend anyone patronize this business. Also their coffee is bad.
