Service is always good, not great but good, Staff is always friendly no matter which of the several dinners you go too. Food is good and some menu items are above average in taste and portions. I have only see slow service when staff was short and new wait help is new. Prices are better then most locally run family dinners. If your looking for dinner food with no frills stop at any of the meany locations in the Ocala area.

02-18-20 I stopped today and had the #2 breakfast. The service is terrible. One server never offers me a second cup or warm up of coffee . She goes out of way to serve other customers and intentialy ignores me even when I am sitting at the counter and only two feet from the coffee. HAVE A GOOD DAY

We have been going for Sunday breakfast at the Blitchton diner since it opened and have been extremely pleased with Ben and the other wait staff for great service and customer relations performance.
Today was unbelievable as it took 45 minutes to get an order of 2 breakfast sandwiches! We observed 3 parties who arrived, were served and left before we were finally able to get the attention of the manager. We has already spoken to 2 wait staff regarding the delay. Finally the mgr. said it was a computer problem!!
The manager indicated he was new, sorry for the problem and comp'd our sandwiches. There were 3 other groups from our local community in the restaurant at the time and saw what transpired. I'm sure this incident will be reported throughout our community.
We will continue to go to the local restaurant as we have just purchased a $200 gift card, but with less frequency or enthusiasm (unless you would care to reimburse us for the gift card).
Attention to the training of managers and staff should be a top priority for the owner or his reputation.

Used to like to go to Darrel's when they were small, and could employ short order cooks that knew how to prepare food. Now, his expansion fever has effected the preparation of food. I can speak to the diner opposite Publix, on Silver Springs Road. Went in and ordered two eggs, potatoes, bacon and toast. Didn't ask for salt on my potatoes, but got loads of salt. When I complained, they put the same potatoes, I believe, in the fat and served them to me again (there were less this time). In addition, they put hashed browns on my plate, which I didn't order, and bacon, which I did order, but crisp. It came fatty on the ends. The only things that were done right were the eggs. Everything was loaded with grease. I paid the full price, and left a nice tip, but you can be sure I'll never go back to that Darrel's or any other for that matter. Carmichaels has just reopened, and there are many other choices I can make. Cracker Barrel, and The Oasis, I-Hopso, just to name a couple. MY ADVICE TO DARREL, "STOP EXPANDING FOR A MINUTE, AND STRAIGHTEN OUT THE LACK OF QUALITY IN YOUR PRESENT LOCATIONS."
