i've heard mixed reviews lately, is it still under same owners hands? has it got better since 08 / 09 era? or still as bad or worse? great location as long as you dont drive/ride drinking Dville is one of the worst places for cops at night

I went to see a band called Black Wolf Moon at Lorenas upon invitation of some friends. When I got there, the waitresses were not accomodating, didn't know anything about who was playing, and the place was in disarray. Finally, when the band came on...I couldn'y hear the music because of the noise in the next room ( karaoke??) and the sound man at Lorena's was an imbecile. The band was good...but probably won't be back because Lorena evidently wouldn't pay them enough to come back. The place is great and could be something. I recommend somewhere's else if you want to have a good night. This place is over priced, poorly ran, and they could care less who is on stage as long as they play for free. You normally get what you pay for...and I will NOt ever return.

location, location, location. THis restaurant location has turned over too many times since it originally opened. As for Lorena, she would treat people right when she first opened, then it got pricier and the quality and service nose dived. I used to own restuarants in D'ville and you can't keep food fresh when you aren't selling enough of it. Beware. When the owner drinks as much if not more than is soild, there is a problem. The owner/s shouldn't be drinking with the patrons... bad for business. Get it sold or close it down. PS Bikers aren't bad, it's the bar.

This is not a restaurant it is a bar in a small town... it rocks. Food is available and great once you have had a few drinks. Everyone is friendly and mostly locals. Go every now and then and always have fun! Lorena is very attentive and always introduces herself to the new customers.

Very disappointed in Lorena's. there is no reason this establishment should not be successful, as there are few other bars/hangouts to choose from in Dawsonville. Recently Lorena's booked an acoustic show for Saturday night, so a group of 20-30 of us planned on going for dinner and for the remainder of the night. A few days before the show, Lorena's cancelled b/c they 'could not afford to pay the band'... despite the fact that they had already agreed on a set amount of $$ and other details. Needless to say they lost a lot of business that night, and we wont make plans to go there again. Seems to be very mis-managed, and staff is not focused on satisfying their customers.

I ate at Lorena's a few times. The waitresses were nice and good at what they did, but once you started to get used to them they would get fired. Lorena and her managers don't know how to run a business. Lorena's will fall through-it won't survive.

this is a typical biker bar right next to a bike store. some friends and I rode there to go to the bike shop and before heading out wanted a quick drink.
I got a glass of water as i did not want to drink alcohol and ride. they place charged me 2 bucks for a glass of tap water. they will not see me again. idiots.

They keep changing their address on the web so people can't see their negative reviews. Make no mistake, this restaurant is in Dawsonville not Dahlonega. So any of the reviews on this page are for the Dawsonville location on Prestige Drive.
The owner changes the address everytime she gets a bad review.
Horrible Service and has become just a Biker Bar with a lot of cussing and loud profanity. Very mis-managed and just average food.

I Totally agree with you DAson Dog. It's really gone down and the manager does not like to listen to any suggestions or comments. She is a chepo too. She offers a 5% disc. coupon on the back of Kroger reciepts...LOL! So, if you spend about $50 for drinks and overpriced bad food you get $2.50 off! More lol! If you go to Austin's in Cumming you will really like it and in Dawsonville I guess our favorite is Longhorns.

My wife and I have eaten at Lorena’s Food & Spirits six times (we wanted to give it a fare shake), the service is substandard, the food a poor value, there appears to be a enormous turn over in employees and no consistence in the organization. As a Dawwsonville business owner these are signs of a missed managed operation. In reality, it’s a restaurant with a drinking problem that goes to the top of the organization and makes an impact on the business decision and the way management handles their customers. I would not take my kids into this establishment. If you want a bar setting go, just be careful!
