My husband and I went to try the Red Tomato for our 8th Wedding Anniversary! WOW! We were absolutely amazed! The Chef's Filet was a delight as well as the Duck that my husband ate. We will be trying lunch there sometime soon! Try it and you will love it!

The city of Bolingbroke, GA consists of about three service stations, a volunteer fire station, a couple repair shops, a local bank, and a handful of 1920’s style farmhouses. A train track runs directly through the center of the city, and this is the only noise you’ll hear in this town besides an occasional gunshot from a hunter. Every morning, without fail, the town sheriff and police officers gather at one of the local gas stations to gossip over coffee before going on patrol. This is a quiet town where everyone knows each other’s names, and one would never expect to find a hidden treasure in this small town.
I worked in the restaurant industry for a number of years in the thriving city of Atlanta. I was a server for one of Atlanta’s finest seafood houses, located on the Chattahoochee River. During my time here, I was lucky enough to learn about exotic foods, wines, and how the two should be paired. The chef at this restaurant was overly experienced and always had new, unique dishes to serve at his restaurant. Needless to say, I’ve tasted some of the best and rarest seafood dishes known to man, and I have come to appreciate a vast array of exotic foods.
On the edge of Bolingbroke lies a 1920’s style plantation house that has been named the Red Tomato. You would never find this place unless you had heard about it by word of mouth. My wife and I had dined for lunch here on more than one occasion, and I was always impressed with the quality and presentation of the food. We decided to try it for dinner over the past weekend, and I was astounded by what we uncovered. This hidden treasure, in the middle of Bolingbroke, GA, could possibly be one of the best places I’ve ever eaten.
The server was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable, and he managed to spout of at least five different specials of the evening. One of the specials was the escargot which consisted of basil fed snails, an appetizer I had never even heard of. My wife is not a huge seafood eater, so she only ended up ordering the cheese platter, which was served with fresh honey, gourmet crackers, kiwi, strawberries, and three specialty cheeses. It was incredible! She also ordered a house salad, which consisted of sugared pecans and a bleu cheese balsamic dressing that was to die for.
I on the other hand did choose to go with one of the specials of the evening, the Caribbean grouper. The dish was served with wasabi whipped mash potatoes with scallions and a kiwi, strawberry, and fresh crab salad. This was a combination that I had never seen or heard of as well. The tastes of Caribbean jerk on the grouper, combined with the sweetness of the salad and the hot kick from the potatoes were absolutely explosive. The different foods complimented one another so good, and the house pinot grigio that our server recommended just topped it off. I told the server to compliment the chef on the taste of the food and the creativity of the overall dish.
The chef ended up coming out to our table at the end of our meal and gave us a complimentary dessert. The dessert was a warm crepe filled with fresh blueberries in a blueberry sauce. It was outstanding just like everything else. The whole dining experience at the Red Tomato was top notch, and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys incredible food and a nice atmosphere. This is truly a hidden treasure that I found way off the beaten path. I’m all about enjoying all aspects of life and experiencing new things, and if you are interested in enjoying the finer things in life, please visit www.thewaytorealwealth.com
