The lady that's the clerk there is so sweet. She has always been very kind to me and my children. She goes out of her way to help u in anyway she can. She is always working hard. Works everyday as well.

The woman that works in Ritz’s is an older, heavyset, tall white woman who is an absolute BEOTCH. Every time I go in there, she is unfriendly to the point of being rude. I don’t understand how that store has ANY customers. This latest visit to that store today (8/18/21) reminded me why I avoid it like the plague. My 8-year-old son asked me to stop there so he could get a drink. I gave in (regretfully) and allowed him to go in and buy some drinks. He came back out and as I was leaving the store, I asked where the receipt was and how much the two drinks cost.
He said he thought it was $6 and some change for two sodas. You can imagine my reaction!
I turned around and went back to the store, went in to check the price label for the sodas (2/$3.50) and then went to ask the woman working there about the receipt. She actually had the nerve to blame it on my 8-year-old son that HE had not asked for a receipt!! I kept calm and didn’t say anything. She said he hadn’t asked for the receipt so she cancelled it out. Then she pulled up the last few transactions and found the sale of the two sodas that matched what we bought. My son was incorrect and they cost the advertised price of $3.50 which was a relief.
But she should have given my son a receipt if for no other reason than that: he’s a child and although he is learning how to conduct transactions and it makes him feel like a responsible older kid, he is still a kid and I cannot imagine how this didn’t occur to her to give a child a receipt. Not all people are honest and she could have scammed him if she wanted to.
But I usually only have to insure her unpleasant, unfriendly attitude when I go in. This is the last time I go there though. If people want to go there (for some unknown reason I cannot fathom) that’s on them. I will spend my money elsewhere.

Weird situation. We pulled into Ritz to get diesel fuel, we grabbed a drink each and filled the tank. The car would not start when we got ready to go. We went back to the store to ask if she had cables, they did, we purchased them hoping it's just a dead battery. We asked two Walker County Deputies to help and they refused.
The lady working at Ritz turned the pizza oven on, made a pizza, and offered us a portion as we had just told her we were 130 miles from home. We had hiked 6 miles in Cloudland Canyon and were lost as far as our knowledge, we weren't sure what county we were in until we saw the unhelpful deputies.
The store clerk spoke with a regular and he came to jump us off. We had been waiting for about 3 hours for the tow from VW. The Pizza was AMAZING and the clerk was the nicest store clerk I've met lately. Restored my faith in the common citizens! Walker County has some of the nicest citizens and worst deputies.
