The Star Ledger rated this place as a top pick of pizza places in NJ. Around the fall we went with a big crowd from work and the pizza was awesome! But soon after that we started noticing a decline in the quality of ingredients. They use to use kalmata olives in the beginning and now they're using really cheap olives that have zero flavor. The crust isn't thin and tasty anymore in fact it resembles dry cardboard. Three of us ate there today and we were so disappointed. And that guy is right that lady is a bimbo! She was our waitress but didn't bring us plates, wrote a messy check we couldn't read and left in some car in the middle of our meal. She had this spaced out look on her face, it was a bit creepy.
I would skip La Rustique until they get their act together.

05/21/2008 - delivery, pizza, salad & pasta
After hearing good things word of mouth and seeing the great reviews my girlfriend and I were excited to try out La Rustique. We ordered a pizza with some toppings, penne ala vodka and a small salad for delivery. They told me 40 mins but they came in about 20 which was bad for me because I ran out to the store and had to make the guy wait for me. $36 with a few dollars tip. Overall neither of us were that impressed. The pizza was a bit dry and bland tasting. I think there wasn't enough sauce. The toppings came on sparse. The fresh moz cheese was okay but the crust was definitely lacking flavor. The penne was pretty good and I'd eat that again although the bread served with it is just the same pizza dough and a little bland. I can't comment on the salad. I would try it again just to see if it was a bad night but not with as high of expectations. (PS disregard the service and atmosphere #'s there is no N/A selection and you're forced to select something)

The Best Pizza in Town,No Doubt About It.Charlie the Owner is Charming and Informative.Beware of the Jerk with the Red Hair Though,This Ignorant Clod will ruin your Day,the Blond Mimbo is Just as Bad.When I see them I just Walk by and Order from Dominoes.
