It had been a long time since I had taken my family to eat at the Underground Inn. We heard there was new ownership and lots of renovation and improvement. If anything, all they really did was add a new back room. Still the same dark and dingy bar atmosphere. The food was similar to what it was before, average at best and slightly overpriced. Unfortunately my food was cold but the plate was very hot. (this is a sure sign that the waiter let my food sit on a hot plate for twenty minutes while our other orders were being cooked.) Never once did our waitress return to do refills on drinks nor ask if we needed anything. She did come back, only to bring our bill. After talking to my neighbors, turns out they had a similar experience there. Sorry, but building a new room in back does not change bad food and bad service. If you want good food in Princeton, go to the Prime Quarter, Wise Guys, Kramers Kitchen or Roma.
