Great Food and Excellent Service. Must come back for that small Home Town comfort food.

This place has a no guns sticker on the door. I don't go into establishments that are little more than a shooting range for deranged people with weapon(s) of any kind.
They're OFF the list. And shame on them for putting their customers ...the ones foolish enough to go in....in such horrible danger.

Went to this restaurant with family between physician visits. Two of us ordered the special of stir fry chicken and one the hot beef sandwich. The hot beef was barely warm, and my stir fry was the worst I have ever had anywhere. A pile of warm rice, smothered with soft, overcooked vegetables and diagonally sliced chicken breast with some unknown sauce on the side which was barely edible. First and last time I will eat at this restaurant.

I've been coming here for years, and the last three-four years it has gone down quit a bit in quality. Saturday(6/8/13) my family and I went to eat there and the waitress managed to drop tartar on us(never apologized) and our food was NOT done. like I said was a good place and always manage to forget how horrible the service was then your slapped in the face and reminded that its just another garbage facility now.

I have at here 2 times before and food was horrible. Was with a group that wanted to try this place so I thought I would give it a try again bad choice I ordered my son the mini corn dogs they were brought out and were a greasy crumbling mess broke one open and the dough was slimy and hot dog dried out. Told waitress she took it back and replaced it with chicken nuggets it took here maybe 2 min to replace and when chicken nuggets were brought out I could tell they were not done cut them all open and they were all raw in the center! Told the waitress and she apologized and said the manager was the cook! I had hot beef and the meat was dried out. So after giving this place a third try I will not come back and the manager shouldn't cook.

Our family visited your restaurant (American Classic Cafe @ 16 11th Street SW Plaza Spencer, IA 51301) the time was around 7:15 to 7:30pm on Jan 8 2011. And it was the worst meal that we have eaten out in a long time! 3 of the group order the special which was chicken Parmesan over noodles with soup or salad (price was $7.99) and the 4th person order 2 eggs (over easy), hash brown and pancake (price was $4.59) plus drinks for all. The first thing that went wrong was we waited for about 20 minutes after we order our food to get any thing and then we got the 3 soups and the commit was made that it took so long because they had to make new soup and the rest of our food was also ready and would be right out. Well the over easy eggs were both broke and hard, the pancakes were also hard around the edges like they were heated up in the microwave. The third thing was that all the food was cold. When the waitress asked how are things we told her that the food was cold and she just smiled and said any thing else wrong and walked away. With service like that we were not going to send back anything because you never know what they are going to do to your food. But I can tell you with SERVICE AND FOOD LIKE THAT WE NEVER RETURN. (P.S. the table right next to us was having some of the same issue, but they got there food and when they were almost done the lady wanted to know where her salad was, they were not happy with the service) I just thought you should know. My Name Is Linda Ball my address is 6224 Regent North Brooklyn Center, MN 55429 and my phone number is 763-516-8581

Food: so many original choices. Everything I had was soooooo yummy.
Service: Helpful, friendly, knowledgable, accommodating.
Value: The amount of sides you get with your order and the complimentary mini loaf of corn bread make your meal a very good value.
Atmosphere: To tell you the truth I don't really remember the atmosphere. I did notice there were several families with children and people of retirement age eating there. I do remember it had pleasent lighting and I liked how the tables were just a tad higher than most tables at restaurants. It made it easier to eat, but maybe would pose an obstical to small children.

I heartily reccommend this establishment.
