Have been going to Famous Amos for years but that has come to an end. Went last night and wound up paying almost 12.00 for a club sandwich with fries. On the menu it reads 7.99 and I added bacon which made it 10.99 when we got to the register the waitress told us she failed to add the bacon, even though it said on our ticket with bacon so she added bacon (again)and it came to almost 12.00. This was the Normandy store but I agree, downhill.. Go try, Arden's..We have

I have been a loyal customer of this restaurant for some years now. Despite the undesirable aesthetics I continued to patronize this restaurant. My last visit was very unpleasant. After receiving my food I took one taste and almost got sick, the chicken had this burnt taste and the meat smelled ranked and old. Still I attempted to eat it. I could only manage to eat the sides and leave the chicken barely untouched. After the waitress came over to ask us how things were I told her the truth. She said that she would send the manager out and manager out. I told him about the food and that it appeared that the chicken was cooked in old grease. He stated that he checked the grease and it was new. I went on to tell him that taking the food off was not the issue, I simply wanted him to know that the food was unsatisfactorily. He insisted on taking the food off. The combo came with three sides. Instead of him taking the food off as promised, he went over and itemized the the three sides and made it more than the price of the combo. I was very disappointed because I told hm that I would pay for the food in the beginning. This was down right nasty on his part and bad customer service. I could have taken my business to another restaurant, however I CHOSE Famous Amos. I stated my dissatisfaction to the waitress and told her once again it was not about taking the food off, it is the principle of the matter. The manager never came back out. This restaurant customer service has gone out the window. Times are tough for everyone, no on e wants to spend their money where they are deceived and treated bad. I spent $29.00 at the restaurant and left the waitress a five dollar tip. Need new management. However I will not spend another penny there.

Since the new owners have taken over Famous Amos, the restaurant has gone downhill all the way. The new owners treat their employees so badly and only care about profit. It has brought the morale down at this establishment so much that it is affecting the customers. The food is not as good and the waitresses are so under pressure that they are not as friendly as they use to be. These people have taken the family out of the restaurant. It no longer feels like home when you go there. They do not care how they treat their employees. They laid off people who had been working there a while, plus cut everyone's hours so badly that they cannot survive. They do not care about anyone's job or the people they have brought into the diner. Now, people are going to other places to eat to avoid the stressful atmosphere. Before it is over, this place will fall in profit and lose valuable employees because of the owner's greed. They want to change it too much to meet the needs of the usual customers. They should have simply made it better as it was, not came in and kicked people around like insects. These are people, not things. They will continue to lose business because they have lowered the morale of everyone involved in this company.
