My husband, 19 year old daughter, and I stayed at this Marriott because of a competition that was held there on January 25th-27th. After driving 4 hours we were very much looking forward to relaxing in the hotel with dinner. We chose to eat at the "buffet" inside the hotel. The menu was printed very nicely with the options consisiting of a salad bar, Yukon Gold mashed potatoes, green beans with shallots, chicken, catfish, prime rib with moonshine demi glaze, and assorted desserts all for $15 per person with the drink included. Sounded good. Too bad the buffet was located behind a bar and we could not see it before we ordered. We were seated by our server, ordered our drinks, and we were told where the buffet was located. Of course the salad bar was what sold me on the buffet- too bad that it consisted of a bowl of casear salad that had 2 bites in it, a small bowl of wilted spring mix, a bowl of eggs that had ranch dressing in it, a bowl of tomatoes, ranch dressing and creamy Italian. I stood there for five minutes hoping to get someone to refill the Caesar, but no one ever came. The mashed potatoes were extremely lumpy and as my daughter referred to it ice cube potatoes- they were disgustingly cold. The green beans were good, but very salty. The chicken was so tough and stringy that it was inedible. My husband was the only one of us to try the catfish and he said it was cold in the center. The prime rib was decent, but definitely not what prime rib should be when prepared properly. I am a caterer and I would have never served a customer any of the entrees. The "assorted" desserts consisted of one chocolate cake on a stand next to a sign that said assorted desserts. My daughter found it funny so she took a picture for her facebook account. We would have like to complain to our server, but considering a she came back one time when I alerted her that I needed a refill on my tea and she brought it back along with the check and was never seen again it made a little hard to complain. I would not recommend eating here to anyone.
