OMG...was I surprised when I met some members of my family at Kay'n'Daves yester at 262 26th Street
Santa Monica, CA 90402 where Santa Monica meets Brentwood. It's right across the street from The Brentwood Country Mart on the West side of 26th.
Everything was totally fresh and made from scratch. The green sauces were greener than green, the red sauces were redder than red. The veggies all farm fresh and the meats moist and the fish sauteed to perfection.
It doesn't look like much of a place when you enter the door, but the menu is unique and varied and the waiters are friendly render excellent service. I would go there anytime with anyone again. (hint hint).
The prices are more than reasonable and it's kid and adult friendly. Give me some reason to go back there right now!
PS: La flan es perfecto...perfect custard, beautiful rich, burnt caramel sauce. Amazing.
Plus an amazing Ice cream boutique is right across the street on the Brentwood side called "Sweet Rose." Hand made ice cream with unique flavors and quite a few DF (dairy-free) choices as well. I went with the coffee ice cream as always. It was perfection.
Thank you Kaye & Dave and staff...what a wonderful experience.
