Best Chineese food in town (in my opinion). Rice is always fresh,(not greasy and over salted like in other places), veggies are always fresh and crispy and they have the best crab rangoons I've tasted. Service is quick if you're dinning in or taking out; delivery time is a different story. Prices are very good and portions are average.
A very good deal for your buck!

This is my favorite restaurant in Lowell. They aren't bland, or half***ed about anything they cook. It is always a total feast, never cold when they deliver, and well worth treating yourself to!

The dining area used to look like a run-down american diner, but they recently renovated it to have the "Asian look". I like it much better, but I wish the kitchen area were hidden from the dining area. I don't care to see what goes on back there. A big flat-screen TV would've been perfect.
I've eaten at *many* Chinese fast-food restaurants, and none so far have as good food as Empire Hunan.
The pork fried rice is fresh, not covered in crazy amounts of soy sauce (and you can tell by color), has scallions, and real pieces of pork.
I ordered the orange chicken lunch meal, which included the tasty pork fried rice, two big pieces of steamed brocolli (I think they include the broccoli with all their meals), two slices of real orange (neatly twisted on top as a garnish), and plenty of orange chicken! It might've been the best I've ever had.
I've ordered a dinner combo there before, but I didn't like the appetizers (crab rangoon and egg roll) that were thrown in because they were re-fried. I think they normally cook the appetizers half way, freeze them, and then finish cooking them when ordered. I'm not a fan of anything re-fried. So, I always order the lunch combo, which excludes the appetizers and is thus cheaper. Plus, the lunch meal stuffs me anyway.
The service is good. They've been quick (10-15 minutes) all the times I've been there, even when they're busy.
The prices are comparable to most other Chinese fast-food restaurants. I'm a regular now.
