We've been to The Bacon Tree for both breakfast and dinner several times. I've never had a bad meal there. In fact, their meals are among the best you can get anywhere. Sometimes the service can seem a bit slow but the staff is so friendly and the food is absolutely fantastic so it's easy to overlook any wait you might have. I also want to comment that there isn't always a long wait... sometimes they are just plain busy because everyone is finding out how good their food is. This is one of my favorite places to eat.

Sorry Cindy had a bad experience, some people are never satisfied. I think the bacon tree is a hidden gem in Winterport, Maine. I had breakfast for the first time, my parents go there frequently and never have a bad word to say. We had Haddock Hash, which I am surprised no other restaurant has thought of this before, it was amazing! Spinach quesadilla with mushrooms and fetta, I will definitely try this again. Have not been in for lunch but I cannot wait to go back!

What a disappointment! We had appetizers and drinks one night and had been so looking forward to returning. Unfortunately, the second visit was nothing like the first. There was only one waitress for the entire restaurant, which was full. She couldn't focus on us long enough to take orders from all 5 of us, without quickly moving off to answer the phone or do something else. Most of the food was not prepared well. The rice was soggy; scallops had no flavor; prime rib was overcooked, thin and on a soupy plate of risotto. When we were finished we sat...a long time...waiting for our tab, which was not small. Not a good experience at all. Not likely to return:(
