I've gone to hob nobbers several times in the past, as I live near there. My first visit was on my anniversary, and I had *the* most delicious seafood alfredo I've ever had in my entire life, and the portion was amazing. The service left something to be desired, but that was easily over looked because of the insane awesomeness of the food.
Fast forward 10 or so "take out" orders later. I went in, paid my $19.80 for the seafood alfredo, and raced home, hoping that this was the time that the food would taste as it did on that glorious visit. It didn't. It was actually about equal to the Banquet dinners you can buy in Hannaford for a dollar. The portion left me hungry, after eating ONE piece of lobster, and a whopping FOUR shrimp. The food has been degraded over the past few months, not really sure what happened...but it's too bad. I called, and politely asked to speak to a manager, who told me immediately and excitedly, "Don't worry, we'll give you a free meal!". This was much to my surprise, since I just wanted to make an informative call...wasn't even expecting an apology, much less reimbursement of sorts. He muttered he'd call me on the following day, and arrange for me to pick my food up. Then, I received an unexpected phone call about 10 minutes later from the "manager", who told me he's tracked down my information, and asked the cook if she shorted me...which she denied whole-heartidly. Then he snickered as he told me he *was* going to give me a free meal, but now....about ten seconds of silence. I then rebutted, "What did you expect her to say, yea I shorted the guy?". I thanked him for his time, and for looking into the matter. Long story just a tad longer, *************the service sucks, and the food has gone to hell.***************** Nothing else to say.
