This place has the worst Mexican food I have ever eaten. The food has never been good. No matter how many complaints this place gets about the horrible food, they won’t change their recipes or take an ounce of criticism. This food should not even be labeled Mexican food. Zero spice. Zero flavor. Nothing authentic has ever been served from their kitchen. The owner takes ridiculous offense to anyone complaining and truly thinks there is a conspiracy against El Topo by other restaurant owners in this little town. I made the tragic mistake of trying them out again after a terrible experience years ago and I deeply regret it. Mexican food has flavor. This food tastes like it was dropped out of a warm can onto a hot plate. Overpriced and tasted just as bad, if not worse, than it did years ago. I don’t foresee this business lasting if they don’t get some help with their menu.

Horrible food and very unwelcoming waitstaff. Do not waste your money at this place Dr

We had a group of 4 and we were almost the only table in the restaurant- waited over and hour for the worst Mexican food we’ve ever eaten. Meals were luke warm. The food was bland and had terrible quality. The enchiladas were almost all dark chicken meat with a watery green sauce. We would never go back.

I've been here a few times and it's always great.

I'm not sure if the food is good or not. We waited 45 minutes for burritos we ordered and when the waitress (who was very nice) checked how much longer we might expect to wait and was told " it could be a while" by the kitchen, we bailed out.

I am the owner of this El Topo. We have had 20 years of great business. We have the same people eating in our restaurant every week. I have been a cook for 42 years. I have seen a spate of other restaurant owners writing bad reviews this last year in many places. No one, even a child, has never "gotten sick" in El Topo. Our iced tea in made from large tea bags and we have never had a complaint. Our food consistently gets raves and is all made from scratch, even our sauces. We are proud of our business, and so are our employees, all of whom do NOT "shrug" at customers.

Had the chicken & Bean burrito. Was disapointed how runny it was. Like bean soup with chicken in it. Was disapointed when the bill came (charged for chips & salsa)! No surprise there; everything in Bigfork, MT is expensive. I noticed a person a the next table spilled his drink on the floor. When an employee FINALLY came to clean up (after the customer went looking for someone to help), I was appalled when she picked up his straw & lime OFF THE FLOOR and placed it back on the table next to his plate! This same person was later going around refilling customers' water glasses and I noticed her (several times) place the spout of the water pitcher far enough into the glass to touch the liquid she was refilling then move on to the next customer and also put the spout of the pitcher INTO their glass as well. Yuck!

our extended family of 8 had dinner here last night after a long hike in Jewel Basin. Our group ranged in age from 9 years old up to 50 something. We ordered a variety of food and drinks and it was all wonderful. Great classic margaritas, and even my three kids finished their dinners. We will definitely return.

We stopped here for dinner after a day in Glacier...kids were FAMISHED. This was THE. WORST. FOOD. EVER. Even my kids (who are NOT picky eaters) refused to eat more than one bite. Our six year old threw up after eating that one bite. When I complained about how inedible the food was to the waitress, she shrugged and brought me my check. Didn't even offer to comp ANY of the meal. Even the iced tea was horrible, and it's hard to screw that up. Stay away. Stay away. Stay away. If you want Mexican in this area, drive down to Polson and go to Fiesta En Jalisco. They're far better. I wish I'd just driven there instead.
