Their portions are large and their ice cream desserts are fabulous! They are just SO good!

I called and ordered a grilled chicken sandwich after checking a menu online. The price online was $5.75. I ordered the sandwich and the girl said "that comes with either fries or tater tots". I chose one. When I arrived, I was told it was $10.99! The employee stated that the online menu prices had not been changed "in 10 years". Yes, I was hungry. But I But I left without paying nearly double what I thought it was going to be. That is extremely misleading to leave old prices online. Won't be back.

This is the first and last time we will ever eat there. The food is mediocre at best, the service is slow, and they do not offer a receipt. And extremely overpriced! Probably why they don't offer a receipt with a credit card purchase. Litton prices in Gibbs? Really?

review_stars 06/04/2014 - Doug Broyles
Food was slightly above average...meatloaf excellent...very good fries...very good breakfast with good variety including country ham.......staff is young and local and improving with experience. ...This a relatively new restaurant. I would suggest you give it a try.

Great food ( especially corn fritters! ) and good service. I've never had a problem with this restaurant. I don't get all the negative reviews!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Best corn fritters ever! Whoo! Go corn fritters!

Yuk. Waited 40 minutes for our food. For not much food - paid over $30!! Could have gone to O'charleys for much less. Disgusting. 2 familymembers threw up that night after eating here.

review_stars 07/10/2013 - Brittany
The food sucks and it's expensive. I paid 4 dollars for a sm. Fish sandwich. It was nothing but a bun and small piece of fish. I will never go there to eat a meal again. The ice cream is good but overpriced as well. I can get something just as good for half the price at other places. Not a thing special about this place.

Went there to use some Deal Chicken vouchers we had. It was the last day we could use them and waitress was really nice and said she didn't see why it would be a problem for us to use them since it said one per visit (not one per table) and there was four of us, but three of us had the vouchers being one per visit for each of us. She decided to call the owner to make sure and the owner said we could only use one voucher. Normally I don't wait until the last day but had been dealing with health issues and time had gotten away from me. I don't think Twisters should participate in these half-off-deals if they are not going to honor the vouchers that are purchased. I have read other reviews of people having problems with coupons and vouchers. Food was okay, waitress was great, and if I hadn't had this issue, I might have gone back but I still have two vouchers that are worth what I paid for them but I will not ever go back there and will not recommend it to anyone!

It would be nice if people read the wording on the deal chickens! It clearly states that there is to be one per table. This is not Twisters nor Deal Chickens fault...All of these deals have different restrictions. Sorry for your trouble, but if you read the certificate there wouldn't be a problem!!

review_stars 01/04/2013 - JSP
We had 5 people and 5 deal chicken coupons for this place but they would not accept all of the coupons because we sat at the same table. They would not separate the tabs and said we had to be "reasonable". If this establishment cannot afford to honor discounts they should not advertise them and get pre-paid for them. Then after they hesitantly agreed to redeem 2 of the coupons, it wasn't until after I asked to see the itemized receipt that it was revealed that they had neglected to deduct the coupons! Will not go back.

I don't get all of the negative comments. I have been to the W. Pike location on multiple occasions and it's always been good and the service isn't bad. You have teenagers working there for the most part and if any of you ever had teenagers you should know they are in it for the hanging out and spending money. If you want 5 star service then go to a big restaurant spending much more than what eating at this diner costs you. I've never had any of them be rude so apparently you must have caught them on a bad day...we all have them.

Wow....can you say disgruntled employee!!

review_stars 05/18/2012 - K Johnson
The Millers, that own this restaurant are not professional people and maybe that is why, after reading these reviews, that the staff and food there is terrible. Under Tennessee State law you cannot harass, sexually or otherwise, your employees. You also must pay your employees after they have worked their hours. You cannot just keep a person's pay because you feel they owe you.I would not recommend this job to kids that are young, it seems like they take advantage of young adults and expect parents to allow them to take advantage of an 18 year old. PARENTS BEWARE OF THIS ESTABLISHMENT.

Wife & I eat there pretty often. Service & food is always good. I experiment with the menu & my wife always has the reuben. All good- sure some things are better than others, it's that way at all restaurants. These people that are complaining, I don't understand- I've NEVER seen the things go on these people complain about. Sure the employees aren't the most professional, they are high school KIDS. But they are always nice and try to do a good job. But hey, this is a neighborhood mom&pop place. It's not Regas!

If you ate there once and didn't like it, try it again and get something different. You just might change your mind.

Actually planning to eat there tonight. Hungry already!!

Only reason I only give 4 stars is that there is always room for improvement, even at the best places.

I thought I would stop in and try a burger at Twisters today. I thought it would be a pattied out burger. It was a frozen type, pre-pattied burger. It was full of gristle and was horrible. I had to clean out a place to sit. This place is nasty inside. I won't be back. ...by the way...I DID ask for a manager. They said that they weren't there. They (the employees) acted as if they didn't care.

What a great 'Diner' experience!!! We have been to the Wash.Pike & the original more times than we can count!! WPike has an excellent breakfast menu ($1 bisc and gravy!) and they both have daily specials also super cheep!! Mom & kids always have to leave with ice cream!! Owners are great and always around, some of these people should sound off to them if they have had a bad experience!! Great family atmosphere!!

Went to this place to try it out with a couple of my buddies. Service and food is horrible. Our meal was cold and had no taste to it, other than the grease. We all had ice cream after our meals. What a ripoff! Plus, rude people working there. We all wished we had our money back. Won't be going to this place again!!

The Twisters Restaurant on Washington Pike is terrible!! I would not recommend it to a dog. The food and service is terrible. Had to swat at flies the entire time we were there. I had the salmon patties. They were dry and terrible. My wife had the chicken salad. Very bland and runny. Our 'soft serve' cones were so runny that they melted before we could even eat them. We will NOT be back to this restaurant again. Terrible experience at this place!

not this one in corryton, but the one on washington pike. i would not recommend eating there. prices are wayyyyyy too high for what you get and it doesn't taste all that great. save your money and eat at wendys and get a frosty. much more for your money and it tastes better too!

review_stars 07/31/2011 - Unsatisfactory
Food poisoning. The waitress was very unfriendly & complained loudly to another employee about her work schedule as well as her dislike for another coworker during our meal. The AC either wasn't working or was insufficient, but no mention of it was made on our arrival or apology. Flies everywhere.

If you go, do the drive thru & get a milkshake. Dining in is a terrible idea. Be aware though that employees gather out back near drive thru to smoke. So. Disappointed.

We drive a long way to come to Twisters! It is SO worth it! Great ice cream (not frozen yogurt!), friendly staff, and I had a burger for the first time the other day and it was delicious! I look forward to the new location coming in early July!

homemade meatloaf with from scratch mashed potatoes was tasty.

This place is great! We always get fantastic service. The kids love to come here for ice cream! The sundae's are fantastic & a great price! The portions are very big-especially the ice cream portions! Twisters is the best place & only place that serves decent soft ice cream around this area!!! Owner's are very friendly & the bathroom is always clean!!! They also have a drive up window! A+

Mostly fried menu, leaves much to be desired. Horrible service. Basically a glorified Dairy Queen rip-off.

review_stars 08/28/2009 - anonnymous
It's a fun place to go with friends! I've never had a meal there, but the ice cream is great!

review_stars 07/15/2009 - Rick Williams
Very unprofessional. Food is not anything to get excited about.
