I moved to Scotch Plains in 1980 on Westfield Avenue, walking distance to Alfonso's on Park Avenue. I left Scotch Plains for retirement in Florida in 2003. With that said: There are a few things I miss terribly. Two are New York City and Alfonso's Pizzeria. I can't find a pizza as good as theirs.

being born and raised in jersey, i would like to think that i know the difference between good, bad and great pizza. and this little joint makes, what i consider, the best pizza in the tri-state area. it's all about the sauce. their other food is par, and dine in service is handled by friendly high school girls. eat there whenever you have the urge for sweet pizza, and a lovely greasy italian food smell(a clear mark of authenticity). or simply order for pick up or delivery. but most importantly, keep this gem a secret.

I really like it... only thing is stay away from the vodka sauce. GREAT pizzas, alfredo sauce, red sauce, etc. And the people who work there are very nice!
