This place is simply amazing! It's truly one a kind, from the wild decor to the incredible live music, i love this place. I try to eat dinner there once a week and every time the food is perfect. Not alot of parking sometimes and there always seems to be new waitresses, but there specialty pizzas are the best in the area. I recommend Gia's to all of my family, friends and coworkers, it really does have something for everyone!!

To begin, we are NOT disgruntled employees, just friends out for the evening for dinner and drinks. Well unfortunately that did not happen. We arrived at Gia's at 7pm and were seated by the owner. The upstairs was not an option. We were given menus water and bread by what seemed to be a bus girl. A man appeared and took a drink order, and we proceeded to wait for a waitress to take our food order FOR THE NEXT 40 MINUTES! We then decided to leave and they watched us walk out without acknowledging us. The friend I was with had been there 5 times and never had a satisfactory experience, I would say she has given them a fair shot. We finished our evening at BISTRO 108 where we had the full attention of the wait staff and a fabulous steak. I really do not know how this place stays open it is only a matter of time.

Gia’s Live Music Club welcomes all legitimate, constructive, criticism. The best way for us to improve is to understand any, and address any, legitimate concerns our customers may have. Unfortunately, we can’t please all of the people all of the time. We would suggest to anyone who had to wait for a long period to perhaps try us on a weeknight when things may be a bit less crowded. You’ll still experience the same great live music and awesome food. It has also been brought to our attention that a few disgruntled (dare we say “postal”) former employees have been posting negative defamatory reviews regarding Gia’s Live Music Club. We would request that you come visit us and form your own educated opinion of our restaurant. Any questions, concerns, or comments can be directed to Giasclub@mail.com.

Gias has to be the most unorganized restaurant that I have ever been in, Tom Caputo, the owner is drunk most of the time, you could smell the liquor on his breath when he came to our table to talk to us. It took over an hour to take our dinner order. Before we were seated, we decided to have one of their overpriced drinks, they did not have the drinks that we wanted and it took the bartender almost ten minutes to notice we were sitting at the bar. We will never go back, also the parking is non-existant.

I am not sure if this is the same owner as Cafe Greco, however, if so, then their food was superb. I feel these negative responses were from someone with a grudge and should be acknowledged. Janet Rose

Horrible, atrocious place. My band played here and we walked through the kitchen. While we did so, the employees talked about how they went out of their way to get dirt on their hands to make ignoring the "employers must wash their hands" sign have more of an impact. I also saw firsthand an employee spit in the tomato sauce. Their boss approved of these actions.
The owner then claimed that they didn't even have $400 if cash, and payed with a check, which bounced. We had to go back every day for a week before he would even talk to us. Also, when I was here on new years eve, the staff would go into the bathroom in groups of for or more, and come out with powder under their noses. W also ordered a pizza, three times, that never came.

We were told before we got to Gia's that they had a parking problem, but when we arrived they had valet parking which was very nice. We were seated immediately and waited on promptly. The food was very good and brought in a timely manner. Patty Armatto vocalist with Mike McIntyre on piano entertained us the entire time we were there. The whole experience was delightful. We will be back again. Thanks Gia's

Not planning a return visit. The service was terrible, the menu has very few choices, they were out of several things early on a Saturday night. The steak was extremely tough but the waitress never came back to check on us. We waited 30 minutes for our bill. We complained to the man that cleared our table, he brought over the owner who was drunk and slurring his words to apologize to us. What a freakin joke! We will never go back.

Reading numerous negative reviews regarding parking, initial wait, and slow service, we decided to arrive early and had low expectations. Were we pleasantly surprised! We were treated like royalty, got a seat right in front of the entertainment, and our Steak Sicilian was cooked perfectly and tasted like heaven. The drinks were also reasonable. The entertainment starts at 6pm, so plan on arriving then and you should have a superb experience as we did!

This was the worst dining experience I have had in my life. We were seated 25 minutes after our scheduled reservation. Once seated our order was taken and we waited 2 hours to be served. The waitress took our order for drinks while we were waiting and when she got to the table she spilled all of the drinks on the table. She then removed the bread which was soaked (never replaced) and changed the table cloth. She never returned. Finally the beady eyed owner came out and said she wouldn't be back because we complained they were out of au gratin potatoes. (not true) The owner seemed like he was drunk (we saw him drinking the 2 hours we waited for our food). When the food came the orders were either wrong or incomplete. Needless to say we got up and left. One person in our party paid for the round of drinks. We refused to pay for the bad food and service. This is not a classy place. The parking was terrible. The staff were terrible. The owner should be in another business. He does not know how to run a restaurant. All of us in our party of 5 will not return to Gias and we are certainly spreading the word in the community how bad this place and its staff are.

Where can I start? For a place that is supposed to be a live music club, its anything but! In the three hours my party was there, we heard the same old music play endlessly! The bar was woefully understocked, and I can almost swear that the drink I ordered, which I paid a premium price for, was of a lower quality. My guests and I were expecting to be seated at our reserved time,(WE EVEN ARRIVED AN HOUR EARLY!), and still were on an hour wait before we were seated! We were a party of 8, and the hostess, (who looked like she would be more comfortable on a street corner with her high heels and two trashy tattoos on her arms,) than in a swanky night club, only seemed irritated by our presence. We chalked it up to the fact that the place was still new; until the food was served. Our party ordered 3 appetizers, and two of them came out after the salads and the cold soup. Upon telling our waitress of our plight, she quickly summoned the manager; who to our chagrin, was yet another strung out looking refugee from a detox ward. On the plus side, 3 of the people in our party were happy with their orders of the house special, the Sicilian steak wasn't bad, after it was sent back twice for the right temperature. And when our bill arrived, before we were offered a choice of coffee or dessert, it was on one single check; when we specifically asked for 4 separate checks on our arrival! In summation, WE WILL NOT BE BACK! Good luck to Tommy (Tony?), and the other owner, Bernie. You guys are gonna need it.

Very disappointing for a new restaurant in town-you would think they would have had their "A" team working for them-instead we had a new waitress who didn't even know what Italian wedding soup was---and brought the soup before the appetizers! Then the soup was ice cold!! Have to say that our sea bass was cooked very nicely, although rather greasy, but the whole experience---including the parking dilemna was not worth the "Chicago" prices on the menu!! So much for giving the "new place in town" the benefit of the doubt!

Parking is the main problem everyone in our party complained of- 3 couples. The food was outstanding and it was so nice to hear the live band. We will definitely return to try something new on the menu.

Parking is terrible. Food and service are great.

What a wonder place! Such a elegant atmosphere coupled with some of the best food I've ever eaten. They had a wonderful band playing live music, and the scenery around Gia's is 1st class. They had well renowned Executive Chef Salvatore di Scala cooking the special (Fresh clams, Fettuccine with the white sauce, and grouper fish under fresh mozzarella and tomato). Add a little white wine and my wife and I were enjoying life! Needless to say the special was amazing! If you haven't been to Gia's in Loves Park you are missing out.

Will never go back. There is no parking. Service is terrible. After 2 hours of waiting, still no food. We left before our food came out and then valet lost my friend's keys.

As a group of local business owners we meet and eat once a week at various restaurants in the Rockford area. We especially like to support locally owned restaurants. Our dining experience at Gia's began with one of my dinner companions unable to order her usual cocktail because the bar was not yet fully stocked. The owner was apologetic and offered my friend the remainder of the martini he had the bartender make for himself. We thought it was a gracious gesture until we realized she was charged full price for the owner's leftover drink at the end of the evening.
Aside from the owner vaguely reminding me of a sewer rat with the integrity to match, the restaurant itself has a hodge-podge unfinished quality. We were seated in the "Marilyn" room, a half-baked attempt at glamour. It was ridiculously artificial looking.
The food is priced at about $15.00 per plate. I had lasagna, it was excessively salty as was the "special salad" that was so over dressed the extra liquid could have filled a kiddie pool. One of my dinner mates had the shrimp dinner, the shrimp itself was about one inch in length but the breading encompassing it was the size of an apple. There was enough breading on his plate to feed a small village. No one in our group enjoyed their meal. The exception to our evening was the waitress, she was smart and efficient. If Gia's is going to work they need some serious rehabilition. They currently suffer from a dismal effort to re-create a swanky dinner club feel.
