Top Reviews of Sal Anthony's Restaurant

In short, the BEST neighborhood restaurant anywhere around…

I've been going to Sal Anthony's since 2005, and it's my overall most satisfying dining experience and now long time favorite. The main reason for the high rating is that eating at Sal’s is basically like eating somewhere locally in Europe. Sal blends the freshest ingredients/herbs into all of his HOMEMADE dishes - with his DISTINCTIVE sauces that so perfectly complement the dish - is what makes Sal Anthony's better than the rest. Simply, you CANNOT be disappointed. It’s a wonderfully FRESH eating experience that we enjoy every time we go. NEVER disappointed.

All of the dishes look and taste AMAZING. Especially great are the appetizer Shrimp in BBQ sauce (not what you would think at all... the homemade herbed sauce is light/thin and simply to die for), and the Eggplant Tower appetizer (when they have that special) is beyond comparison - The flavors are incredible.

For entrees, the FISH specials are always FRESH, and when in-season, Sal's SOFT-SHELL CRABS are exceptional - better than any I have ever had - Not even my next favorite place in the Hamptons comes close to Sal's! As an entree special, the Pumpkin Ravioli is my all-round favorite - very unique blend of ingredients and taste (although it's seasonal - only during the fall). And, the Salmon dishes are all great, especially the Salmon special that bakes and serves on a CEDAR PLANK (btw, you can ask for that special even if it's not on the daily menu!). I hate to keep saying it this way... but, my next favorite Salmon dish is nowhere around here or NY (It's in Sweden), and Sal’s comes very close.

All of Sal's sauces are great - but his homemade pesto is outstanding - one of my top favs. Sal makes his sauces fresh from scratch using the freshest ingredients and herbs - you will immediately notice the difference.

There are no short cuts at Sal’s, so when it's busy, you might wait a tad bit longer for your entree - but it's well worth it! The flavors are incredible.

CLASSIC Italian menu, with daily UNIQUE specials... Something for everyone.

Simply... DELICIOUS food using the FRESHEST ingredients in a QUAINT space!

PROS:

-BYOB
-HOMEMADE dishes, FRESHEST ingredients, TASTY, and absolutely the BEST sauces.
-INVITING atmosphere. PLEASANT, comfortable dining space - including private dining room for larger parties.
-Open for lunch and dinner.
-Nice, CLEAN restroom.
-Friendly staff.

CONS:

-No AMEX, only accept MC and Visa (or cash of course).

-Desserts are ordinary
