Discovering a longstanding, family-operated cheese shop during a leisurely stroll through Chinatown and Little Italy was a delightful surprise, as we were greeted by a charming assortment of Italian cheeses, meats, salads, and other delectable accoutrements that made for a memorable culinary experience.

Love this store --- everything they sell for us and the kind friendly dedication and service of the Sanmauro/DiPaolo children, heirs to this treasure. Read the Louie's labor of love book about their history in Southern Italy region of Basilicata, and the store with detailed narrative on all the various cheeses, sausages and of course prosciutto crudo. The home made mozarella is divine and declisious with the milk dripping from the skin (love the salted version). It's hard to stop eating it! All the antipasto items are top quality. Addictive lasgna (made with fresh ricotto) and mother Viola's egglant parmigino-- So delicious and made with care and love. You will never want to buy supermarket versions again!
