I am not a picky eater, but I did send the salad back. You shouldn't have to cut up a salad in order to eat it. The onion, tomato and cukes were in such large pieces it would have been impossible *not* to cut them so they could be eaten. I consider this laziness on the part of the kitchen staff. While the service was good, the food was mediocre quality and not worth a second visit to the restaurant. In addition, they do not accept credit or debit cards. That little bit of information is not posted anywhere on the premises, and I was surprised when I went to pay the bill. As I was told by the lady running the register, it isn't required that they post it, and I understand that, but she had a bit of an attitude when I questioned her as to the reason why. What I don't understand though, is not letting the patrons knowing this critical piece of information before they are seated. That may be fine for the locals, because they would be familiar with the policy, but for people passing through the area, it may become a problem. Regardless of whether or not there is an ATM across the street where you can get cash, the restaurant should post their payment policy.

My parents abe both from Hamden, Ohio and I have been eating Veals in Wellston all my life. I live near Cincinnati, Oh, but I have to make a trip several times a year to Wellston and Lee's for that food of the gods, a veal. I usually take quite a few home frozen and make them at home from time to time. Lee's serves a "killer" veal, and great onion rings too. Also, Lee's has a great desert called a Choclate Bubble. Try it!

Originally located a couple of blocks down and named Lee and Helen's restaurant it has served the Wellston community for years. My parents brought me there from an early age and we always got the Jackson County veal sandwich which has become an icon for the area. Even though I live a couple of hours away I make the trip a couple of times a year to get my Jack County veal sandwich. Remember to bring cash as they don't except credit cards but there is a bank machine directly across the street.
