Okay...I don't know where the other guys have been to, but the Fox and Hound downtown Portland, Oregon, it was not.
Good food...yes. Good service? No.
THE GOOD: Tasty meals served hot (or cold as appropriate), carry all of (if not too many) on the sides. Fries, clam chowder, Buffalo Shrimp, fish, and burgers sit alongside the menu with steak, grilled fish and healthy choices.
THE BAD: The atmosphere (at best) is 2.5 stars out of 5. Don't expect to be seated, don't expect to have your meal served within 30 minutes and DON'T expect anyone to be an ambassador to the restaurant. I have seen the owner just sit by when a group of 8 of us are waiting for a table....we just waited while he sat there drinking at the bar, as the waiters zipped by saying, "sorry..." LOL Good thing the food was good.
THE UGLY: If you are repulsed by cigarette smoke, don't go there. Smoking isn't allowed inside, of course, but the ventilation in there is very bad, so they prop open the door and the windows above the emergency exits to help cool the place down...which (of course) lets the smoke in from the guys on the sidewalk.
Sooooo....if you can deal with the Bad and the Ugly, you can enjoy the good. I suggest you try the Steak.... My husband loves the Honey Stung Chicken.
Enjoy!
