In September of 1984, Sue opened Rhode Island's first Thai Restaurant, Bangkok Cuisine, located on Warwick Avenue. Earning the praise of customers and critics from all around the state, Bangkok Cuisine served the finest Thai dishes for nearly 10 years. During the fall of 1996, Bangkok Cuisine moved to the East Side of Providence, RI under the new name 'Sawaddee Thai Restaurant.' Today, Sue continues her commitment to serving the best Thai food in Rhode Island.

The quality and value of this place have really gone downhill over the last year. Portions have shrunk, service for take-out has become slow and sloppy, and even the quality of the food has begun to suffer. I used to love this place but I'll never waste my money again.

Went here for lunch during Christmas break week. We were the only ones in the place for a while. Can't understand why though. Food was REALLY good. Had 3 lunch specials (all $6.95) - Pad Thai, Masaman Curry Chicken and Chicken with Basil and Chili Sauce. Every one was equally good. The only slight downside is that there are only a few things on the menu indicated as "spicy" and those aren't very hot. Next time I'd try asking if they could make things hotter. The service was also good (although the pace was a bit relaxed - probably not good if you're in a real hurry).

Very small restaurant, so get there early or be prepared to wait. Tasty options, served on attractive and unusually shaped plates.
