Restaurant Description
Al Forno, which means "from the oven," was inspired by Northern Italy's fine cuisine, which makes extensive use of wood-burning ovens and open-flame grills. The menu reflects all provinces of Italy, Provence, and Providence. Chef/owners Johanne Killeen and George Germon's training in the fine arts is reflected in the elegant design of the restaurant's interior and in the creative presentation of the dishes. Reviews and Awards DiRoNA Award Winner; James Beard Nominees & Award Winners; The International Herald Tribune selected Al Forno as "number one" in the world for Casual Dining.

AlForno is my favorite restaurant in the world! The food is always fabulous and the service is excellent. The veal chop is amazing and my favorite it the rigatoni bolognese-it's awesome! You also MUST have pizza as an appetizer too, and definitely order a crostata for dessert. You will never be disappointed!

The manager asked us to vacate our table for another party. It was my birthday and I was dining with six friends. We were there for two hours and had just finished dessert and coffee and were paying the 400.00 tab. when he approached us and asked if we could move along so he could seat another party. He also stated that there was a "two hour time limit". Why don't they tell you that before you are seated? The food was cold and just ok,not fabulous. Save your money and have a more pleasurable dining experience somewhere else .
12/23/2006 - Dirty Steak
Al forno means only one thing to me: Dirty Steak. The dirty steak is a boneless ribeye cooked on wood coals - it's charred and burned on the outside, but juicy and tender on the inside with a smokey flavor. The rest of the menu is great too, pizza, desserts.
Sometimes there is a wait, so be prepared.
