I just went in to apply for a job at this restaurant and I can say it was honestly the worst display of PR skills I have ever witnessed in my life. I go to the bar and ask for an application for server. The woman behind the bar immediately tells me they do not hire men as servers. I was taken back by this and decided I wanted to talk to a supervisor and asked for the name and phone number of the supervisor. I was told no I could not have the information. I had asked 3-4 times. She then says she will get the manager so I waited...mind you I only wanted to get names so I could report this. He came out like gang busters and was cussing and dropping the f bomb like crazy. I said the hiring practice is sexist and he got even more irate. He said we only hire women servers and I again asked for his name. He would not give it to me as he was cussing me and pushing me out the door. I got outside and immediately called the police. I was sitting on the chairs outside the restaurant waiting for the police to show. He came out and said those are my tables and you need to leave that area. I then asked him if he owned the sidewalk and waited on the sidewalk for the cops to show. At this time he said he was on the phone with the police friend of his and that I was gonna get my -ss beat. I have filed a complaint with the EEOC and talked to a discrimination lawyer. I could not believe the nightmare of the situation all in looking for work. I was also told by the cops that even though he physically grabbed me and bumped my chest with his that it was not assault. My attorney says differently on this and I will be pursuing that avenue as well. I would say just by the experience of being there that it is dirty, the help have no public relation skills whatsoever. I would avoid this place. I will wait to see what comes of this from the EEOC and my Lawyer.
