Reviews of Asian Cafe

Other people are confusing this place with a different one. This one is straight up traditional Chinese food. No sushi. The food is very good. There can be a long wait for carry out on the weekends but they give you an accurate time on the phone.

My friend and I decided to give Cafe Asia a try after buying a coupon on Living Social. They have a daily "Buy One Get One Half Off" Sushi, and we love sushi! The night we arrived, we saw they had a great special on a bottle of wine - $12!! We ordered 4 rolls, the bottle of wine and edamame. 1) The service was AWFUL. We had to get up and wander around to get water refills, utensils, etc because the waitstaff was no where to be seen. 2) When the bill came our total was $52. We presented the $25 coupon and the waiter came back with the adjusted bill. It was now $38. He had only taken $14 off. We then realized, that they bumped the price of the sushi back up (so no 50% off second roll). When we inquired about it, his explanation was that (and his exact words) it was a catch and management changes the rules every day. 3) We asked to speak with management and he said they were cooking and couldnt come out, but he proceeded to circle in pen the spot on the coupon where it says "not combined with any other offers or promotions" I would have given him that "catch" had they not given me the special price on the bottle of wine, because the wine was a special offer that night as well. Cafe Asia decided they were going to get their money either way off that coupon: Price of meal before coupon: $52 Price of coupon: $12 Price of meal after coupon: $38 Total paid: $50 Don't give this place your business. There are better Asian restaurants all around Raleigh.<br />

There's much confusion in these reviews. The NEW Cafe Asia at 9650 Strickland Rd in Raleigh is EXCELLENT (was there today, 9/25/10). 2-for-1 rolls that were fresh, tasty, and beautifully presented. The place has a modern decor, with soothing lighting, and is very clean. The ladies' room was spotless (I could smell the Chlorox!). The wait staff was attentive without being overbearing. My only complaint was the crappy music (Nickelback, Michelle Branch, etc.). I'd rank Cafe Asia up there with Shiki Sushi in Durham -- please get the word out because we need restaurants like this in North Raleigh! Their phone number is 848-6205.

I was looking for an on line menu for the Asian Cafe located at Strickland/Leesville Rds, when I came across the last post. The Asian Cafe has been at their location for many years, it didn't just open. I believe the last poster intended to leave a review for CAFE ASIA, which did in fact open within the last couple of months, but is located at Strickland/Six Forks in the Lowes Shopping Center. My husband ate at CAFE ASIA a few weeks ago and said he'd never go back. We've been going to The Asian Cafe (Strickland/Leesville) for a couple of years and like it....some things are better than others, but we've always had a good meal there. I didn't intend to write a review, but will, since I'm here anyway!

We have just eaten at Asian Cafe and WILL NEVER GO back. BE advised!!!! We had the worst service and the food my wife ordered was unable to be eaten the owner said "because she ordered it was her fault and we must pay". We did but never again. They just opened and hope it is not for long.
Bread and olive oil great....sauce didnt seem cooked...no flavor..acidic. Over priced. Why wasn't the Romano/parmesan cheese on the table???? ...
Best cheeseburgers in the city of Raleigh. You cant beat the angus barn beef patty they use for their cheeseburgers. Also the best HOTDOGS in Raleig...
Domino's has stepped up since the new manager came about 2 years ago, the service is great! I love dominos!!...
Food is great, but beware. Order your food online, as they refuse to honor their own specials in the store. What s huge disappointment ...
went to take out. dirty , dirty, dirty. never again....
