My husband and I ate at “El Pescador” on 11/09/12. We were only one of two couples at 12:30 p.m. The terrible service and mediocre food was apparently the reason the establishment was virtually empty on a Friday at the height of lunch time. The ambience was terrible (calling Restaurant Impossible!) and throughout our meal mariachi music was blaring and unbearable…so much so that I had to leave my husband behind to pay the check. I would not recommend this restaurant to my worst enemy. I do, however, recommend “Rapscallion”—it’s the best seafood that we’ve found in Reno to-date. Sorry, El Pescador, no mas.

I live in the San Francisco bay area, and I recently went to Reno for a weekend getaway. I had heard of El Pescador from a friend, and they highly recommended it so I thought I might as well try it.
Honestly, I would take a day trip, and drive three hours to eat this food. I haven't been able to stop bragging to all my friends and family about this place. I took a small to go menu with me, and plan on taking a trip back up there soon with some friends. They have the best fish tacos I've ever eaten, and the Camerones con Camisa (Prawns stuffed with cheese and wrapped in bacon) was to die for. Their horchata tastes like Christmas and the chips, salsa and bean dips were amazing. I can't wait to go back!!

Oh my God, I love this place! I think that I am addicted to the Ceviche. I wish this restaurant was in the Bay area so I could go every day. I love the prawns stuffed with shrimp and wrapped in bacon. Some of my employees drive to Reno just to eat here. None of us have ever been over charged or over looked. It is a comfortable establishment. The food is always made per order and the menu is gigantic. You guys that live in Reno are so Lucky! Oh, I am not Spanish and I do not speak Spanish and everyone is always nice to me and my order is taken correctly by the nicest waitresses that I know.
