Great place
03/05/2011 - tablehoppers2011
On March 4th 2011 we went to McNamara's Bar in Camillus to see a band play. Midway through the bands first set, the owner came storming in and told the band that they were too loud right in the middle of one of their songs telling them to get the **** out. In my 30 years of going to bars to see bands play, I have never seen anything this rude and unprofessional. It was a rock and roll band that wasn't playing too loud. The band had played there recently a few months back and everything must have been fine because they were hired back to play there again on this friday night. I quess the owner needed a reason not to pay them and just threw them out threatening to call the police. Several patrons in the bar were also appalled, one woman said to the barmaid, "did any of you ask the band to turn it down a little bit before you rudely threw them out?" The barmaid replied saying, " well you haven't even paid your bill yet." The woman was so taken back by the barmaids comment, that she said " maybe I wont, and I'll never come back to this place again. The band members were born and raised in Camillus and were treated so poorly by their home town bar. McNamara's is off our list of Bars to go to from now on. There are more professional ways of handling a situation like this, like letting them finish a night or even a set instead of storming up in the middle of a song and telling them to get the **** out. After this happened most of the patrons left the bar in disbelief saying they would never come back. This band is a class act, playing many clubs in Central New York. Like we mentioned in the beginning, we have never experienced behavior that was this rude and unprofessional from a business owner and establishment
