I traveled 300 miles from Fort Worth Metroplex to buy property in this Lovely Anderson County (God's Country) & found this Outstanding Little Country Cafe in the quaint town of Elkhart where Everything was cooked with Love & served with Courtesy to their guests !
Best Country Fried Steaks in All Of Texas among many other Wholesome meals that stick to your Ribs & pleasing to a hungry appetite (known for their FAMOUS Chicken Fried Steak that hung over a Large Platter smothered with Hot Creamy Gravy) & generous side dishes that take two people to finsh !
But Now I sadly discover that this One Of A Kind Resturant run by this Beautiful Family has been Permanently Closed !
I know there are alot of sad towns people that will miss this Wonderful Diner that fed them so well & my Heart feels for their sadness.
I want to Thank this Family for their generous invitation to share the experience of how Good Old Fashion Country Cooking tastes & the Excellent Service, Wonderful Food & the Warm Welcome they offered to every single guest that they served & treated as Family !

BEST Texas Chicken Fried Steak you'll ever eat !!! Thick Juicy HUGE Real Beef Pattie with a Crispy Golden Batter smoothered in Hot n Creamy Pepper'd Gravy & your choice of generous sides ! Mouth watering, southern favorite & worth the 2 & a half hour drive to get here! Come see for yourself. This restaurant is true Homestyle cooking at it's very Best !⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The catfish is just awesome at Harcat and Lou's Diner. I have never ate fried catfish since moving to Texas that wasn't hard as a rock on the outer edges. The hushpuppies will melt in your mouth, to sum it up its all well worth your money and a trip to this fantastic restaurant.
