Service sometimes is hit or miss but nothing earth shattering have always been happy with the food from dine-in to takeaway. To the person who posted the long post. The only racist is you. We’ve ordered the sauces with no problem and we are white.

At one time the Salvadorena was a great place to eat ...the portions were ample in regards to meat content and seasoning and sauces were authentic..the girls at the counter had a genuine smile and a hi for everyone who entered...lately the girls at the front counter have a scowl and an underlying dislike of non South Americans entering their establishment...my last visit I requested red sauce with my meal..the counter girl looked at my blue eyes and said you won't like very spicy...what the heck..I replied yes I hope it is hot and spicy Arbol and Guajillo hot that's what I'm looking for some thing hotter then your Salsa Verde...she flipped her head walked back to the kitchen and gave me a small container of red sauce and turned and walked away..one small red sauce container for 4 enchiladas ..left went home to enjoy my enchiladas they were dry...the meat content in one enchilada was spread thinly ..an amount that I don't think would of filled up a tablespoon.. the refried beans were watery like soup..the spanish rice was more white then red.. is this a Covid thing the San Salvadorena is going through..hopefully they read this review and bring back their original people with the smiles on their faces with their genuine pleasant customer service and go back to serving real refried beans ..add some sauce and depth to your spanish rice....add some meat to your enchiladas. You have cut back the meat to where you can't notice the tasty spices you cook your meat in..your enchiladas are bland

My wife and I have been curious about La Salvadorena for some time and finally drove over from South Bend to try it out. Boy, we were in for such a treat. I'm not sure if I have ever had any type of food exploding with as much flavor as theirs. We had marinated pork tacos, enchiladas with beans and rice, and these pancake type things that came with a variety of filling combinations. We can't wait to go back.
