Went to lunch on April 25, 2018 to celebrate Administrative Assistant day with Co-workers. Table of 6. We got seated right away got our drinks promptly and then waited and waited to place our order. Once we placed our order it took 20-25 minutes to get our food. There were only 2 tables with customers other than ours. When we got our food it was luke warm at best and the waitress during all this time never came over to refill our drinks! We were there a total of 1 1/2 hours and never got a refill. The waitress asked how our checks were to be paid we told her separately she brought our checks and left, another 20 minutes to get her to come back to the table. Food was okay but the service was poor at best. Not many people have an hour and half to spend on lunch during working hours. Don't think we will be back!!!

It’s been awhile, but I finally went to a restaurant and ordered Chicken Marsala. This used to be my method of measuring one restaurant against another, and somehow, I think I got burned out on this seemingly simple dish. I resisted the urge to order it last night at Caffé Phoenix, but I shall go back and report on how they compare to the Chicken Marsala I just had at The Reel Café, located on the corners of Dock and Front Street in Wilmington, NC, which is one of those things that you WISH would make you have a Phantom Poop.

But let’s start off with what I ate first, which was the Guinness Beef Stew. Or shall I say Campbell’s Thick and Chunky. There may have been a tablespoon of Guinness mixed in, but I wasn’t sure.

So anyway, I really, really love mushrooms. Like a hobbit loves mushrooms. And second breakfast. I don’t know how this happened, since they’re so weird and, well, fungified, but I love them. So I say, “Let’s see if we get a variety of mushrooms, or if we’re gonna get plain button mushrooms.” I think I got ONE plain button mushroom, thinly sliced, to make me think I had more than one mushroom. Doused in about a quarter cup of “Marsala” sauce. I’m pretty sure it came out of a package. I’m not sure there was any Marsala wine in the sauce at all. They didn’t even cheat and use Sherry. I should have used the $4 I spent to upgrade from Grilled Chicken to Chicken Marsala to instead buy another margarita, because you can’t mess those up. And when the Chicken Marsala revisted me for the next twelve hours, I could have at least blamed it on the tequila.

The blackened salmon with fettucini alfredo was the chef's special and was excellent! Perhaps my best dining experience ever! It ws perhaps a bit loud due to sports TV but the dining made up for even that. Highly recommend visiting them!
