We ordered food for take out. They did not provide eating utensils. We went back in to get some and they said they were out. Go to a grocery chain and get some. That is a no-brainer. The food was cooked in old grease and extremely salty. Needed to drink 2 bottles of water just to get rid of the saltiness. We could not eat it all due to the salt. Just right for someone needing a heart attack. Portion size on the Cajun pasta was half of what you would get eating inside. Never will visit another Shrimp Basket again anywhere. Way overpriced for the quality of food. This just ruined it for me. Take my advice and eat elsewhere.

Awful. Food slopped together. Shrimp boiled definitely not grilled. Restaurant needs updating. Bad experience!!!

My wife and I have eaten around the world and the U.S. We stopped in Evergreen, AL for our first visit to a Shrimp Basket due to its online reviews as the best restaurant in Evergreen. We later learned there are 23 outlets of this excellent, lower-priced seafood restaurant.
What a fabulous Friday evening! We walked in around 5:00 and were immediately greeted by about five cheerful and friendly staff members. We chose to sit at the bar, where Anna was exceptionally kind, friendly, and helpful with the menu. She alone was worth the visit. The menu was very broad and creative with many shellfish choices you would want to see and other items as well. The Merlot was outstanding, just what we needed after a difficult trip. The fried oysters were very light, with minimal breading, and not fishy. What you might expect if paying several times more than Shrimp Basket's very economical price points. The shrimp options were outstanding - blackened and grilled were two choices tried. Their signature shrimp slaw was creative, unique, and excellent. A district manager present named Ryan Evers shucked oysters near us and turned the evening into a funfest with friends about the seafood business, though we had never met! We left about four hours later, after seeing the restaurant and patio fill with happy and enthusiastic customers. It was a very memorable experience, and we would gladly visit there again for any one of the exceptional features - great prices, good quantity, excellent quality, Anna, Ryan, and the whole staff. We highly recommend the Shrimp Basket for a wide menu of well-priced seafood entries. Thanks to everyone there that gave us a great Friday evening. We wish there was one in Greenville, SC where we live.
