The HQG has really disappointed me lately. The menu change was a really bad idea, probably to save the owners money. Instead of great food like it once was, the food is now far below average and way over priced. My girlfriend and I ate there recently and the scallop dish was dry, bland and boring. The decline in customer service has been even more noticable. HQG just does not offer a warm, customer friendly atmosphere anymore. The atmosphere seems rushed, pretentious and downright rude these days. Most of the lower level staff are friendly, but the host staff not so much. As a local of Eagle River, I m not alone in my critisim. Most people I know have stopped dining at the HQG and now I can say I m done with it, too.
