This place has a very loyal following - perhaps attributable to demographics of the community. The food is okay - nothing spectacular. Ragazzi has a very high opinion of itself (not earned, having failed a recent health inspection). Ridiculously overpriced. Snooty, impolite food servers who seem to think they are working in a Michelin 3 star restaurant). After 3 tries and 3 repeat performances, I refuse to go back.

We've been on and off customers at Ragazzi's for 14 years and we have very mixed feelings about them after our last visit. The restaurant is clean and comfortable. The hostess is attentive and makes everyone feel welcome and valued. We've always found the food delicious and pleasing but here is the rub. Over the years we've seen the portion sizes decline and the prices go way up. Yes, we understand inflation, we also understand price gouging. Most folks living a comfortable retirement didn't get there by being fools. We've seen the cocktails increase in price and the size shrink to half or smaller. The bar has always carried the higher proof of the better brands but sadly now they don't. One of our party of three asked for a gin on the rocks. Paying $7.50 for a cocktail is not outrageous but it is irksome when you used to receive the higher proof and twice the size for that same price I asked for my usual straight whiskey. I received the lower proof and like I mentioned, a much smaller drink. So, I had two of them that night and I was charged $10.50 for each one evidentially because I asked for a certain brand. Twenty one dollars for what I used to receive for $7.50 kind of chapped me. My bad for not inquiring about the price beforehand.

The breads have changed and the difference is absolutely noticeable. The appetizer of spicy calamari is amazingly flavorful and satisfying but at $13.99 it is more than just a little pricey. Fifteen bucks for a half carafe of the house chardonnay was also a stretch. I had the ribeye steak which I thoroughly enjoyed and it came with Alfredo fettuccini and three shrimp on the pasta. The shrimp were severely overcooked, hard and curled up tight and not much larger than a wedding ring. We had three entrees that night and enjoyed them. Oh, the salads were cold and crispy but pretty blah. A dollop of dressing just sitting on top. My wife ordered a Caesar salad and it was not tossed like in other restaurants. Just another dollop of dressing sitting on top. The taste of the food is pleasing and always has been for us. However, just a snick over $150 (including tip) for three entrees, 3 small drinks and 1/2 carafe of the house wine pretty much soured us against giving Ragazzi's chance. They are opening other locations and now I see how they're doing it.

Upon entering ragazzi we were greeted by smiling faces and thought we were in for quite a treat. We ordered drinks and things went downslope from there. In her water glass , my mother discovered a dead fly stuck to her ice.. We immediately notified the waiter and they brought her a new glass.. After looking through the menu we hoped our meals would be well worth the high prices. Soup was delicious and so was the bread but not remarkable.. After finding the fly in the glass of water ..my sister found a couple hairs nested within her plate of Fettuccini Alfredo !! Nobody wants a strangers hair in their food .. It was very off putting and ruined dinner... To top it off the bill was a grand total of 3 drinks a plate of shrimp Fettuccini Alfredo, veal saltimboca, and chicken Marsala.which included soup or salad and bread. The portions were minute and definitely not worth it.. We were given ten dollars off of our check as courtesy for the hair and fly incident. I still was very disappointed and had higher expectations for Ragazzi. I absolutely did not enjoy paying 70 dollars for flies and hairs in my food and drinks! Absolutely repulsive! Not a place I shall revisit
