t5here tamales are always fresh and great tasting. I drive from Palm Springs to get them. they are the best.

Just finished reading a very negative post by a customer who says the middle aged man that works up front
is not friendly. Nothing could be further from the truth. I have been buying tamales from El Nayar for the past 15 years or so. I probably buy about 15-20 dozen per year. I take a dozen to my father about once per month. He is 92 and loves the pork tamales. Just got off the phone with him and he asked for a dozen more. They are the best tamales in the area. They have pork, chicken and cheese tamales. All are very good. I am always treated with a smile and good service. I buy their green salsa also. Delicious.
There are also a couple of women who assist in front and they are both friendly.
Don't hesitate to go here to get your tamales. Also, they sell pan dulce and salsas and other mexican fare.
A happy customer.

I found the owner to be very friendly. The place was clean and had great tamales and other Mexican food! I disagree with the other reviewer and found the complete opposite to be true. The man was so nice!

To start, this place employs a middle aged man who works the counter and treats customers like dirt. He is condescending and acts like he couldn't care less whether you purchase anything or not. doesn't speak good english and will hang the phone up on you - literally. They made mistake on my tamales and filled with vegetables instead of beef and the owner did not have the decency to make it right with me and refused to speak with me. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE SINCE I ALSO FOUND MANY VIOLATIONS BY SAN BERN COUNTY HEALTH. UNCLEAN WORK AREA, SOURCE OF FOOD ISSUES ETC.
