In my opinion, They should have sold the chocolate chip cookies and the pistachio cake recipe along with several other very good products before they spiraled into what people are opining in this thread. My family bought their products at the Mayflower grocery store Northwest side of Chicago starting in the 60’s. What a shame. Close the doors so the founders stop rolling over in their graves

I purchased a cherry danish coffeecake for my husband. There was hardly any cherry filling inside. He was very disappointed. Any way of getting a refund or replacement?

I have just purchased my last coffee cake from you! I bought the cherry a couple times and the cherry filling was hardly there! They must have spread it you couldn't see or taste it. Now I bought the apricot and again I had to look for it. It is spread so thin that you can hardly see it. It was also so dry, it might have been old! Living in Chicago Heinemann's bakery was always so good and our first choice but not anymore!

Purchased a cheese coffee cake at Jewel and New Lenox labeled Heinemann’s cheese danish. What a disappointment. Dry, NO cheese, five bucks and half the size it used to be - don’t bother buying - it would do them right if they went out of business. Another company ripping us off .

I grew up in Oak Park IL with Heinemann's Bakery and it was the best ever back then. We have bought several pecan coffee cakes at Jewel that are made by Heinemann's, and I keep giving them once more chance, but the coffee cake we bought yesterday at Jewel from h=Heinemann's was once again dry and not at all moist. Plus, the size has been made smaller and at 4.99 that's not right. Jewel brand coffee cakes are now what we buy as they are moist and you are getting nore product for less money when compared to the size Heinemann's offers. Sad to see such a fine bakery hitting the skids in this day and age.

So not only are they not as fresh and little to no filling but have you seen how small the coffeecakes have gotten for 4.99 at jewel

Purchase 3 coffeecakes at Caputo's in Elmwood Park this week. Like MenuPix User prior said there was a total lack any filling !!
2 Void apricot and one Empty cherry.
Very disappointed.
Remember going to your Irving Park Location as a child and aways enjoyed your products.
I'm done with them now as they are TERRIBLE !!!

We have been buying Hot Cross Buns every year at Easter season from Jewel in Rolling Meadows. Since about 3 years ago, Heinemann's Bakeries has been supplying the Hot Cross Buns that are getting staler and staler each year. This year 2021 the last four purchases have been even worse. For example the purchase on 3/22, though marked Sell by 3/26 just crumbled when cutting, even after heating in the microwave oven. Looks like we will be looking for another source next time.

I purchased a Raspberry Danish Coffee Cake on July 3, 2020. I purchased this danish from Fair Play Grocery on 87th Cicero in Chicago. This was to be a treat for my husband on July 4th.. We both grew up with the delicious Heinemann's Bakery products that our parents would purchased. This danish was Extremely Dry, Little Filling, Danish had huge separations between layers and Icing was hard. This is not the product I remember. I am 58 years old but .......Do Things Change into unrecognizable History. I very much Disappointed.
