I had a great time at Safeway recently. I went in for water but ended up buying Yogi tea and some fresh produce. The membership process was smooth and I got a discount right away. It's now my preferred grocery store, especially for the bakery - everything is so fresh and tasty. The staff is super nice and the store is clean and well-organized. The only downside is the paper bag situation, where you have to pay extra. They should just raise prices by a tiny bit instead. The bakery really impressed me with a cake I ordered for a co-worker's promotion. Even though they couldn't do the design I wanted, they did a fantastic job with a free-hand decoration that was beautiful. I received many compliments on it and will certainly be returning for future events. Safeway in Delaware is a cool, huge store with a great vibe. It reminded me of Whole Foods in a way, with a wide selection of items. The meat section was well-stocked with quality products. I was pleasantly surprised, considering I usually don't enjoy grocery shopping. I hope Maryland steps up its game soon!
