Driving through Haleiwa, the irresistible aroma of smoky, spit-roasted chicken drew me in, and I was quickly rewarded with tender, juicy meat that was perfectly seasoned without overpowering the natural flavor. Paired with a slightly sweet pineapple coleslaw and tangy grandmother's sauce, this flavorful meal was a delicious reminder of authentic local grindz, best enjoyed fresh and savored slowly.
