On Kaua'i's south side near Waimea Canyon Road, this roadside stand serves fresh, perfectly cooked shrimp-especially the crispy coconut shrimp and flavorful spicy Thai or sweet chili garlic varieties-accompanied by rice and sauces that make for a messy, hands-on, and satisfying meal with quick service, outdoor seating, and thoughtful amenities like a handwashing sink.

Wow, what a great little place! It's an unassuming little roadside drive-in, really, but the food is incredible. We had the coconut shrimp and the thai shrimp, which were wonderful, and they had a reasonably priced hot dog for our kids, who didn't feel like shrimp. It might bother some that you just eat at picnic tables out front, sometimes sharing a table with strangers, but I consider that just part of the charm. I plan to visit again on future trips to Kauai.
