We just left this restaurant. I don’t usually write reviews, but always read them prior to going to a new place. This time I felt that the reviews listed did not represent the quality of food. Both of us had the fried catfish fillets with a side of shrimp. There was absolutly NO meat on any of our fillets (we each had 3) It was litterally all cornbread batter. The salad was ok (your usual lettuce thrown in a bowl with a tomatoe wedge) and the baked potato was fair. The side of 6 fried shrimp was meaty and the best part of the meal. If we had it to do over again, would most likely get the grilled fish instead. I took pics of the fillets, but didn’t see how to put them here. Our server was very attentive and efficient. Atmosphere….well it was clean. Mostly booths. There was a beautiful 1000+ saltwater fish tank to look at. I’m sure there are good things to eat here……but the fried catfish isn’t it!

This is not a recent review.
I lived in TX from 2010 to 2012. I ate at B.T. seafood in Laporte, and Baytown, I really enjoyed it. I have eaten at Papaduex, Landrys, the Boiling pot,, Charlotte Plummers and others in TX. B.T. seafood was just as good.

We have gone there almost every week since we met in 2008. We have Never had a bad experience. The Food and the staff are perfect every single time. When we have company this is the place we take them,or we order large orders to go. You can’t buy and cook for a party as delicious and economically.

On 1/4/2011 my son, his wife & 6 mo old baby went to this restaurant with a gift certificate I had given them for Christmas. After their meal they presented their $25 gift certificate for payment of their $31 & change bill. The management refused the gift certificate stating he had no way to check it's validity. My son then telephoned me and I found my original receipt where I had paid for the gift certificate on my credit card. I in turn called the restaurant and spoke to the waitress/hostess and told her I had my receipt with the info they might need. As the waitress/hostess told the manager I was on the telephone I could hear every word he was saying to my son & family. (What he was saying to the owner I have no idea because it was in another language). He even said the owner suggested calling the police! I was stunned!!! The manager never once got on the phone to speak to me. When someone did acknowledge I was still on the phone, they hung up on me before saying anything to me. Finally I drove to the restaurant in person to show my receipt only to find that somehow or other the manager had found a way to authenticate the gift ceretificate and my family members were standing in the parking lot. When I went inside the restaurant to ask what was going on the manager told me he had no way to tell if the gift certificate was real. I asked why would he issue gift certificates and not know how to redeem them upon use. He had no answer. I also told him that HE was the one who had issued me the gift certificate to start with. My family was very embaressed by the situation & was NEVER offered an apology, a comp for the $6 and change they were over the gift card for their dinner, no apology for threatening to call the police, NOTHING. I was never offered an apology of any kind either for going out in the night to provide a receipt for the goft certificate. The manager was rude, uncaring and tried to blame the waitress who replied "don't blame me. I told you she was on the phone with the info you needed to verify the certificate". As I left the restaurant fuming with anger I told the manager that I would NEVER set foot in his restaurant again after being treated like a criminal for his lack of knowledge on how to redeem a gift certificate that he himself had sold me. If I could find the owners e mail/website I would file an official complaint. Alas, this is my only outlet. Think twice before you ever obtain a gift certificate from them.
